~Fake views~

Damien Hirst has stuck his middle finger up to the art world for almost 25 years. Now, the artist is taking on truth itself in his latest exhibition.

‘Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelieveable’, the exhibition which will stay at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice until 3rd December, turns ancient history on its head, and gives a nod to the way fake news and post-truth culture has us second guessing everything.

It is made up entirely of rusty knives and spoons, ancient tablets and crumbling, coral-covered statues that were “salvaged” from the wreckage of a historic (read: fake) ship: The Unbelieveable.

The statues take inspiration from real artifacts in museums and… Read the full story

Bet you’re regretting Brexit now

The Costa del Sol gets a bad rep, but if you’re a neurotic traveller it might be the place for you.

Spain has just been named the safest, cleanest, and cheapest place in the world for tourists, after the World Economic Forum released its annual Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report earlier this week.

Topshop tried to expand their sizing and it didn't go down well

The report, which is produced every two years, looks at the health of tourism sectors in 136 countries worldwide.

When hoverboards first entered the gadget market, they were kind of a let down.

Behold mind-bending photos of Damien Hirst's latest art exhibition in Venice

London is littered with hoverboards that don’t hover, take up space on the pavement, and occasionally explode.

Then came the Flyboard Air, a logic defying machine that actually works, and can propel users up to 10,000 feet into the air

The Flyboard Air made headlines last year when its CEO Frank Zappa tested out a prototype model on the river Thames.

Now, they’re officially available to rent in the UK.

Even bad-ass feminists mess up from time to time (Picture: Deirdre Spain for Metro.co.uk)

Feminism is a little bit like posture. It’s so easy to stop making a conscious effort and find yourself getting dragged down by gravity/life.

Metro IllustrationsWe talked to teenagers about the future of feminism and they were amazing

You stop paying attention for five minutes and before you know it you’ve fallen into old unhelpful assumptions and stereotypes.

You don’t even believe the stereotypes, you know they’re bad for you, but, dammit, societal ‘norms’ are so ingrained that you sometimes forget to resist them, no matter how much of… Read the full story

Easter 2017: We tried 6 vegan Easter eggs and these were the winners

Easter used to be problematic for the vegans amongst us, but that really is not the case anymore.

The next hot trend is getting botox in your bumhole

There is an abundance of vegan chocolate on tap all year round, and come Easter every health food shop and grocery store is stocked with vegan and Free From options.

I gathered nine unsuspecting Metro.co.uk team members and asked them to blind taste-test 6 very different brands and styles of vegan Easter eggs, to find out which one’s are worth a nibble and which ones should be left on the shelf.

While every egg we trialled can be technically classed as vegan-friendly, I told each participant that there was a ‘control’ non-vegan egg in the mix. This was mainly so they would really have to think carefully about each rating they gave.

So yeah, I lied but I bet… Read the full story

Being able to control the way the world sees your body can be a powerful thing (Picture: Getty)

Don’t post sexy selfies online.

Isn’t that one of the first rules of the internet?

We’re taught not to do it along with learning never to trust spam emails, and discovering that while Wikipedia might be able to write your essays, Yahoo Answers can’t solve your problems.

But is posting a naked selfie really that bad? I don’t think so. Posting a naked selfie – if you want to – can be a huge confidence boost.

My Facebook feed is full of people celebrating their bodies: gym selfies, holiday snaps, pre-drink mirror shots.

You can now get temporary tattoos that smell like herbs and flowers

Does the thought of peeling yourself off the sofa at some point today fill you with anguish?

Sure, perhaps you were born lazy.

Psychologists from the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research have found that laziness is catching, as we tend to adjust to fit in with those around us.

The same goes for… Read the full story

The next hot trend is getting botox in your bumhole

But if you’re a guy, you may well not have.

Despite the fact it’s great for strength, flexibility and cardio, it’s considered a typically female form of exercise.

So one yoga practice is smashing that stereotype with its very own male-focused yoga classes.

If you’re committed til death do us part, why on earth do you need a prenup? (Picture: Getty)

Recently Metro’s Rebecca Reid wrote a piece about marriage called If you think you don’t need a prenup you’re being naive.

Her feeling on the matter – echoed by the 68% of readers who voted in a poll in the story – is that arranging fair division of financial assets in the event of a divorce, before you’ve even tied the knot, is the only sensible thing to do.

And I’m afraid I respectfully disagree.

According to Benjamin Franklin (who stole it from Christopher Bullock), only two things are certain: death and taxes. Not divorce.
