Damien Hirst has stuck his middle finger up to the art world for almost 25 years. Now, the artist is taking on truth itself in his latest exhibition.
‘Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelieveable’, the exhibition which will stay at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice until 3rd December, turns ancient history on its head, and gives a nod to the way fake news and post-truth culture has us second guessing everything.
It is made up entirely of rusty knives and spoons, ancient tablets and crumbling, coral-covered statues that were “salvaged” from the wreckage of a historic (read: fake) ship: The Unbelieveable.
