Last year, researchers in Wellington, New Zealand looked into the psychological benefits of being by the sea.

The study found that ‘increased visibility of nature’ in an urbanised area was linked to lower psychological distress.

The researchers also discovered that ‘visible blue space’ in the coastal city of Wellington was linked to lower stress levels, even more so than green spaces.

The study adds that further research is needed to confirm ‘whether increased visibility of blue… Read the full story

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re in love with plants recently.

But because we are not blessed with green thumbs, cacti and succulents are the way to go.

Flowers die speedily. Fancy plants manage to wither under our eager but uninformed care.

But our cactus remains strong and steady. Our succulents continue to grow in adverse circumstances.

Finally, it looks like we’re moving away from the unicorn trend.

People are divided over this Bye Felicia lip balm

Well, not that far – this product is still a pink, shiny, strawberry flavoured lip balm.

The Bye Felicia lip balm comes from a collaboration between Sephora and Taste Beauty and debuted in Sephora stores in the U.S yesterday.

While some are excited about the floating flamingo lip balm – others are saying the attempt to tap into the ‘Bye Felicia’ pop culture phenomenon is an ill-informed move towards cultural appropriation.

The term, ‘Bye Felecia’ was first coined by Ice Cube, in the award winning (probably)… Read the full story

Have you ever been on a bus or train, and felt someone…brush up behind you, where they didn’t need to?

Maybe you thought it was just the rhythm of the vehicle, and it was an accident. Perhaps you got off at the next stop, and didn’t give it a second thought.

Woman ‘repeatedly sexually assaulted’ on London bus on her way to work

Sometimes, though, it will happen again. Or it never stopped in the first place. And you begin to think this person is intentionally brushing up against you. This is no accident – you’re being assaulted.

These were the thoughts that went through my mind the other week, when I got sexually assaulted on the tube as I travelled to work.

I was on a crowded train, and a man was stood directly behind me. As we departed, I could feel him swaying against me, and presumed it… Read the full story

I experienced a few weird side-effects at first – shakes in the morning and difficulty sleeping – but I was shocked at how much better I felt a month or so into taking them.

I felt energised. Things felt easier.

But now, for reasons I don’t entirely understand, that high has started to come down.

Day-to-day, things definitely still feel a little easier than they did before I got help. The bad thoughts aren’t as frequent and don’t feel as intense. The obsessive thoughts aren’t happening every… Read the full story
