Meeting your S.Os parents for the first time can be a daunting prospect.

Sure, your boy/girlfriend thinks the sun shines out of your arse, but will their family?

Forget the unicorn craze - we're all about the 'Peen-i-corn' now

After you’ve had a couple of long-term relationships, you get used to dealing with other people’s parents.

Some parents will love you, some won’t.

I’m still very good friends with an old ex’s mum – we talk more than he and I do. We’ve always had good chat and used to bond over our mutual love of cats, vegetarian food and God knows what else.

I just returned from a week’s holiday from somewhere hot and beautiful and yeah, it was pretty sweet.

This guy who took a 30 gallon drum of icing on the bus is our idol

I now have all telltale signs of a Brit returned from a vacay abroad anywhere above 10 degrees Celsius: a single sunburned shoulder (peeling, looking like Parmesan), a phone memory’s worth of (remarkably similar) sunset photos, and a deep feeling of satisfaction.

Yep, I’m feeling pretty smug.

I have not had a week off for a few years, so normally I’m looking… Read the full story

If you don’t like sushi, we’re about to change your mind with some incredible shoes – crafted entirely from rice and raw fish.

Police force hire a guinea pig to help teach others about road safety

Created by Milan-based artist and chef Yukia Hu, the shoes are based on brands like Nike and Supreme – making them as trendy as they are tasty (not that we’d recommend eating them).

But Yukia doesn’t just design trainers – oh no, she’s all about the sushi sandals, too, because what better way to enjoy the warmer weather than pressing your toes against mushy rice?

While Yukia mainly… Read the full story

Some people take their children on the bus, others their dogs.

Britain's cities ranked from fittest to laziest

This guy, however? Well, this guy decided to take a huge barrel of icing along with him on his bus journey in Toronto, USA.

Twitter user Craig Calhoun posted a photo of the man with his drum while sitting opposite him, also journeying on the bus.

He captioned it: ‘Guy on this bus is packing a 30-gallon drum of Cinnabon frosting’.

Fitness is a modern-day obsession which has revolutionised the way we look at and after our bodies.

We’ve gone from promoting heroine-chic – unhealthily thin, weak twiglets – as the height of 90s beauty, to telling women that it’s good to be fit.

Anti-Agency London is championing diversity, the next fashion frontier

In an age of Instagram bloggers and celebrity trainers, we want to be strong, not skinny.

Beyonce is muscular. Serena Wiliams is powerful. Karlie Kloss is ripped.

But it can still be intimidating for the average woman to feel confident about their bodies and about working out – particularly when it comes… Read the full story

Being trapped on public transport with a crying baby is one of life’s greatest tests.

Sure, these sushi shoes are unhygienic - but they're also incredibly fascinating

You can’t do anything about it, the parent can’t do anything about it – all you can do is pray it’ll please, please stop.

But at a certain festival in Tokyo yesterday, attendees wanted anything but peace and quiet.

On Sunday 30 April at the Sensoji Temple at Asakusa, the baby crying contest – Nakizumo – took place in Japan.

Throughout the competition, 160 babies born in… Read the full story

Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’ is everywhere. There’s simply no escaping it.

Meet Strong Girl Takeover - the group who are revolutionising female fitness

But, if it wasn’t for the (admittedly, incredibly catchy) song, we’d never have found Tired N’ Tested – a mummy-blogger who’s released a hilarious cover of ‘Shape of You’, entitled ‘Smell of Poo’.

Singing about her children, son Jack and daughter Evelyn, the blogger, real name Sophie McCartney, sings about the trials and tribulations of being a mother.

To start the video, Sophie takes Ed’s club-based line and turns them into: ‘The club isn’t the best place if you’re a mother, it’s just no good to go.

‘Slob at home in maternity wear and maybe pop out to Tesco.

‘Spontaneously burst into songs from Disney, to stop a toddler rant. Sing ‘Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho’ and ‘Let It Go’, then they start to dance.’

I’m all for an out-of-the-ordinary hotel.

Whether that be one with beer-filled hot tubs, that’s super cheap, or excessively pink.

And now, the latest hotel to join the family is one built in an upside-down boat.

Located in the Dyfi Valley in Wales, the ‘boatel’ not only features stunning views of Snowdonia – a national park containing the biggest mountain in England and Wales Snowdon – but it’s also eco-friendly.

It has a composting toilet, solar panel fueled shower and was made… Read the full story

Counting calories is hardly anyone’s favourite pastime.

Forget the unicorn craze - we're all about the 'Peen-i-corn' now

Though if you really need to lose weight, it’s been considered a necessity for years and the only way of effectively shedding pounds.

But according to new research, strict counting might be no more effective than – increasingly popular – fasting diets, in which you eat 500 calories every other day while eating normally on others.

The most famous version of these being the 5:2 diet, in which two days are fast days and the remaining five in… Read the full story

When you talk to women about their experiences of school PE, you get one of two reactions.

They might say that they loved it, that it was one of their best classes at school. They were probably their house’s sports captain, or on the athletics team. They probably still wear their school joggers now (guilty, sorry).

In case you missed this very important event off your calendar, here’s a reminder that last night was the Met Gala, AKA the annual massive fashion party that requires celebs to dress up in extreme outfits and waltz around talking about clothes.

It's time to stop policing what women wank about

The event is a collaboration between the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute (hence the ball’s name) and Vogue, with Anna Wintour raking in all the celebs for the guest list each year.

This year’s theme:  Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons, in honour of 74-year-old designer Rei Kawakubo.

Finding shovelling fries into your mouth too much bloody work?

Two pints of beer is more effective pain relief than paracetamol, apparently

And so does McDonald’s, apparently, who have answered a problem that pretty much no one has by creating a utensil with which to move their french fries from the box into your mouth.

Presenting the frork. It’s a genius tool that allows you to slot fries inside, then use them to sweep up any dip before placing them into your mouth.

Clearly, this is absolutely f***ing absurd and just a massive PR stunt for McDonald’s new saucy burgers, but they… Read the full story

We know the royals are a touchy subject, but let’s face it, even the most ardent republican can’t argue with the statement that Princess Charlotte is adorable.

Dad documents the hilarious conversations he has with his four young daughters

Okay, she might be the face of privilege and everything, but she’s also a tiny angel in Fair Isle knit, so it’s no wonder the cardigan she’s wearing in her birthday photographs sold out almost instantly.

The cardi is from John Lewis, and far from being made from pure swan down, or whatever most royals wear, it sold for just £17.

Oi, youths. You look away now. There’s no news related to Oreos or Reese’s here. Just the best Dairy Milk chocolate bar, casually making a comeback after 14 years.

That’s right. Years after it was harshly removed from our shelves, Cadbury is bringing back Dairy Milk Tiffin.

For those of you not in the know (people who weren’t eating chocolate 14 years ago), Dairy Milk Tiffin is a delightful bar of Dairy Milk chocolate packed with chunks of biscuits and raisins.

Sometimes you get a headache that just won’t go away.
