This week in ‘hey, guys, you may want to rethink the way you’re selling your products’, a jewellery brand has put a delightful advert up on their website.

The ad shows a picture of a woman wearing a bunch of earrings in her multiple piercings.

The tagline: ‘Something for every hole’.

Which is, well, perhaps not as neutral and innocent as marketing for earrings typically should be.

We would not, to illustrate our point, walk in to a jewellery shop and say ‘please fill all my holes’ or ‘hello, I… Read the full story

If you’ve ever been in a gym weight’s room, you’ll be used to hearing all kinds of profanities.

Amidst all the grunting and huffing, there’s always a nice, steady patter of ‘F*CKKKKKK’ as people release weights.

Stop whatever nonsense you're doing and appreciate this rescued baby otter

It feels good to swear when you’re lifting – particularly when the weight you’re pulling is slightly too heavy.

Is it something you should stop doing, for fear of being branded a foul-mouthed guttersnipe?

Absolutely not, because scientists have found that that swearing can actually make us stronger.

Thousands of dads will be celebrated in Britain next month during Father’s Day.

Boy Giving Flower to his MotherMother’s Day 2017: When is Mothering Sunday and why does the date change?

But while most children remember to send flowers or visit their mums on Mothering Sunday, there are still many who don’t celebrate the annual day for dads.

That might be because they don’t really know when the date is, or it may be because dad doesn’t doesn’t seem all that worried about marking the date.

Either way it’s only right that guys get a similar… Read the full story

In Mesa, Arizona, utility workers noticed a four-week-old otter struggling to get out of a canal on the outskirts of Phoenix.

‘My operator noticed something floating in the canal and he turned and hollered,’ Salt River Project worker Craig Boggs told KPNX-TV.

‘He was calling for his momma. It would go back under water and fight and… Read the full story

A quick cat-eye just works. It looks great. Once you get the hang of painting on a smooth line, it’s easy to do. It’s an old reliable, suitable for every possible occasion (running in to your ex, going for an interview, wanting to look like you’ve made an effort to go to Tesco).

Of course, everything that Beyonce does is at least a little bit newsworthy.

When she went out to a restaurant recently she spawned about a billion memes, just by ordering from a menu.

So her pregnancy was never going to be allowed to fly under the radar. But, while most of the commentary has been positive, and about how divine pregnant Bey looks, there’s been recent speculation that she might have had her lips injected to make them bigger.

While out in the real world, women’s bodies are varied and glorious, the images with which we’re presented on our screens and in the pages of magazines are, well, not.

They’re photoshopped. They fit a norm of slim, white, hairless, and smooth.

Attention: a cookie dough pop-up is coming to London

It’s frustrating, because having this norm makes it seem like this is the only acceptable way for women to be.

So oral sex is one of life’s true joys.

No, kids should not be allowed at weddings

And masturbation is one of the only activities in the world which is free, fun and isn’t bad for you.

So a tool which can simulate oral sex should be an absolute dream. Right?

Well, in theory, we’re right there. But in practice? We’re just not quite convinced.

There’s something about the artificial tongues which we’re not in love with, and to be completely honest we reckon there’s a good chance you could get your labia trapped between the tongue bit and the plastic bit.

This week is Maternal Mental Health Week with focus on raising awareness of perinatal mental health problems.

metro illustrationsHalf of us wouldn’t be comfortable talking about mental health at work

While post-natal depression is fairly well known, there are a number of other pregnancy-related conditions that aren’t spoken about as much.

These include perinatal anxiety, perinatal obsessive compulsive disorder, postpartum psychosis, PTSD and birth trauma.

If not addressed in the right way, these can have long-standing affects on a child’s emotional, social and cognitive development, according to NHS England.

Perinatal mental health problems are being taken much more seriously these days with… Read the full story

Not having kids at your wedding is just selfish

When one of my closest friends told me she was pregnant, one of the first things she asked was whether it would be okay to bring their baby to my wedding in July.

This woman's story sums up what men don't get about being a woman

There wasn’t a second’s doubt in my mind that I would say yes.

Saying yes to kids at our wedding meant having a teeny tiny person who I’m going to watch grow up, involved in the biggest day of my life. How could that be a bad thing?

I love children, I’ve worked as… Read the full story

There’s also cake.

If a carefully selected list of favourite people doesn’t include kids, I reckon that’s entirely alright.

Making friends at work can, at times, be more stressful than the job itself.

Sometimes it comes completely naturally.

Many of us have worked in offices where the person we sat next to on the first day became a kind of new best friend (at least during work hours).

In other offices, making mates can be a minefield.

All surprisingly affordable (Picture: various)

Ten years ago British wine was little more than a curiosity.

Some tasted frankly bad and others were drinkable but not exactly Dom Perignon.

But with the UK’s vines now becoming more established (they’ve had a few decades now), everything is about to change.

British wines are now matching up to some of the well established heavy weights in the wine world (yes seriously) and taste, well, pretty damn good.

With the Vineyards of Hampshire British Wine Festival only a few weeks away now (July 23rd), we taste tested some of Britain’s offerings, grown just a few miles outside London.

Not only do they taste good but it’s nice to finally be able to drink… Read the full story
