After feather brows, barbed wire brows, and dragon brows, brace your brows for another ridiculous Instagram trend that’s not actually a trend: brow carving.

metro illustrationsThe key to a good night's sleep? Stop trying so hard

Brow carving is not as violent as it may sound.

Instead, it’s just a snazzy new brow styling technique from makeup artist Alexa Link, that involves tracing the lines around the edge of her eyebrows with eyeliner, leaving a bare gap between the line and the hairs, to create a super sharp, defined, edge.

Then she… Read the full story

Along with stretch marks, loose skin, and weight gain, those who have caesareans also have to deal with scarring, which can put a dent in their confidence.

Nurses are unsung heroes most of the time (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

International Nurses’ Day 2017 is on May 12. To celebrate, one woman tells her experience of being a nurse.

As a General Nurse, my job is to visit care homes and support the residents, their families and the staff working there.

I work alongside a mental health nurse so that, between us, we can care for the whole person, rather than just their physical state.

I’m a psychotherapist and I know just how scary it can be to seek therapy – I’ve done it myself

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sucks.

It’s one of those illnesses that most people find hard to understand, because on the face of it, it seems like we’re just a bit tired.

Sadly for us, it’s way more than that with ME/CFS.

Around 250,000 people in the UK suffer with ME/CFS and there are varying levels of severity; from people just about managing to function to those completely bed ridden.

To give some context to my story, I was only diagnosed a few months ago, but have been suffering for around five years. In the last year or so it’s got progressively worse to the point I’ve had to give up weight lifting, curb my social… Read the full story

Postnatal depression is incredibly common – but it’s something we rarely talk about.

We don’t see the reality of being a new mum on our Instagrams and on our TV screens. Instead we see blissful photos of mums holding their kids, perfectly organised lunchboxes, and daughters with Pinterest-y hairstyles.

Noticed that self-care’s become a bit of a buzzword recently?

It started out as the name for important moments people spent looking after themselves as part of working on their mental health.

brow carvingAttention: There's another ridiculous beauty trend and it's called brow carving

Then it became a hashtag on Instagram photos of candles and face masks (which are still acts of self-care, don’t get me wrong).

Then it started being pinned on marketing emails, used to sell us cosy blankets.

But self-care isn’t all about buying luxurious things, doing yoga, or having a massage.

For those of us struggling with illness, things that… Read the full story

And if one of those includes smoking pot, then you’re in luck.

Why does this brand think it's okay to cover diet planners with body-shaming messages?

Because the newly opened International Church of Cannabis is now starting to perform weed weddings.

The Denver-based ‘Elevationist’ church which opened on 4/20 has just announced that they’ll soon ‘become the first ever church to offer wedding services in a “cannabis-friendly” environment.’

The offer is a result of being inundated with public demand for weed weddings.
