Others, many of whom lurk anonymously in comment sections or on social media, will go so far as to suggest that those who do rely on donations have brought it on themselves and don’t deserve the charity.

People seem to schedule their children’s time minute by minute; from football classes to gymnastics lessons, cooking clubs to art classes – and these are just the after-school ones.

Holidays and weekends, too, are becoming a non-stop calendar list of events, with day trips to castles, amusement parks, soft play and the cinema.

I have always, as long as I can remember, been a girl’s girl.

Maybe it’s going to all girl boarding school, or maybe it’s being from a female-dominated family, but either way, I’m all about the ladies.

That said, in just under six weeks, when I marry my fiance, that’s probably the expiration date on ‘hoes over bros’.

One penguin has fallen head over heels for a cardboard cut-out of an anime girl penguin named Hululu.

Grape-kun, an elderly male penguin, fell hook, line and sinker for the cut-out after it was placed in his enclosure at Tobu Zoo in the town of Miyashiro in the Saitama Prefecture of central Japan’s Kanto Region.

Pregnancy is a beautiful, incredible experience.

It’s also, to be totally honest, really weird. The kicking through the skin, the fact you’re growing a whole second set of organs. All odd.

But last week a video surfaced which brought a whole new level of pregnancy strangeness into our lives. It features trainer Rachel making her baby bump almost disappear before reappearing.

She does this exercise (or magic trick) by using her stomach muscles to push the foetus upwards into her rib cage. (This isn’t for the squeamish).

Run by just six people with two teams, one in West Sussex and another in Thailand, the work needed to save children all across the world is never ending.
