I hate you!!!! (Picture: michele piacquadio)

Children, bless their little hearts. What’s not to love about the adorable ankle-biters?

Quite a lot, as it happens, when you’re two blinks away from falling asleep standing up after a hard day at work or have been stuck on the M25 for four hours on a journey that should take forty-five minutes.

While 90 percent of what children say is endearing, inquisitive and charming, every so often, a question or comment slips out that’s enough to make you want to hand them back.

Joke. Obvs. (ish)

The 11 most annoying things that children say.

1. It’s not fair

Your friend winning the lottery off the back of a ticket you gave her in a birthday card is not fair.

The 14 stages of waiting for A-level results day

Aaaaargh! (Picture: Stephanie Reis)

As A-level results day fast approaches, you’ve probably found yourself going through a number of emotions.

Two years of hard work comes down to three grades, which decide not only whether you’ll go to university next year but also, of equal importance, if you’ll be drinking to celebrate or to forget.

These are the stages everyone goes through on the run up to one of the most stressful events of an 18-year-old’s life – A-level results day.

1. The screwed stage

All you can think about is how utterly screwed you are.

You screwed up that last exam and that means you’ve screwed up your entire life.

2. The pep-talk stage

You tell yourself results day simply doesn’t matter.

The exam board don’t know you can rap to, like,… Read the full story

Porn mags have been left neglected and dusty on the top shelves of dodgy newsagents since the arrival of the internet.

Even iconic titles like Playboy have struggled to compete with online porn sites, with Entrepreneur reporting a fall from 7.2 million readers in its heyday to a print circulation of 1.2 million in recent years.

Now Berlin-based art collective Pornceptual aims to bring print pornography back, but with a difference.

Forget Busty Babes With Banging Bangers, Pornceptual will challenge the viewer with explicit material that can be viewed as… Read the full story

These leather bags are made using leftover fruit and vegetables

Go on, use it to carry some fruit. Get meta. (Picture: Fruitleather Rotterdam)

Doesn’t sound too appetising, but hey, it’s vegan.

Fruitleather Rotterdam are a team of undergraduate design students who’ve come up with a new way to deal with leftover food: turning it into leather.

What started out as a university assignment has turned into a massive design project. Using leftover food from food markets, they’ve started creating ‘fruitleather’, a malleable, leather-like fabric from rotting fruits and vegetables, making a handy tote bag to show off the material’s potential uses to the public.

And no, before you ask, it doesn’t rot. We’ll explain:

The hottest chilli pepper money can buy has just gone on sale at Tesco

There’s a new chilli on the scene for people who think they can handle their Scovilles – and it’s taking no prisoners.

Tesco say they have sourced the hottest chilli pepper ever to be grown in the UK (commercially – god only knows what sort of monsters are being created in people’s back gardens) – and they are, perhaps recklessly, offering it to their innocent shoppers to buy.

The aptly named Komodo Dragon measures 1.4million on the Scoville scale – comparing to 3,500 Scovilles for a jalapeno pepper and 350,000 for a Scotch Bonnet.

A woman’s open letter to a driver who wound down his window to heckle her about her weight while she was out on a run has been getting lots of love on Facebook.

Twenty-six-year-old Lindsey Swift from Barnsley was out on a jog last week with her boyfriend – she’s training for a 10km run – when a guy in a white van slowed down and began to harass her about her weight.

He also shouted a ‘sarcastic’ rendition of Mika’s ‘Big Girl (You Are… Read the full story

So here’s why coffee makes you poop

Life’s biggest mysteries (Picture: Youtube/Reactions)

Finally, an answer to one of life’s biggest questions:

As part of their ‘Reactions’ series, the American Chemical Society has provided a full scientific explanation for the mystical phenomenon of coffee making you poop.

First off, coffee-poop syndrome doesn’t happen to everyone. Only around 3 in 10 people have to deal with the trauma. Poor things.

But while most people think the laxative effect is down to the caffeine, it turns out that’s not the case.

The same pooping effect happens when people drink decaf coffee, indicating that it’s something to do with one of the other 1,000 different compounds that make up coffee.

Scientists now think that… Read the full story

For her touching photo series Perfect Imperfection, Alex has taken a series of heart-warming portraits of animals – from cats and dogs to birds, and even one goat – with various disabilities.

‘I love every animal I have the privilege of photographing, but those perceived as ‘different’ hold a special place in my heart,’ says Alex.

‘The tenacity of animals to overcome adversity never ceases to amaze me. They make the most out of life and from them I have learnt so much… Read the full story

You don’t know where anything is, you’re not sure which month it is and you definitely can’t find your phone.

Here are 14 things you’ll only know if you’re really, REALLY forgetful.

1. Leaving the house is hard

You have to check everything is unplugged seven times and hover by the front door wondering if the iron is 100 per cent turned off, even though you have DEFINITELY checked.

Once more round the house?

2. Going back to the house is hard

You regularly get to the train station and then realise you have nothing you need because you spent so long checking plugs. At least you’re getting fitter from all the sprinting though.

4. The never-ending search for everything you own

Mmm… laptop (Picture: Henry Hargreaves, styled by Caitlin Levin)

Henry Hargreaves has been deep frying gadgets from laptops to headphones.

No, he hasn’t lost his mind – he’s an artist trying to show the similarities between how we treat tech culture and fast food.

Hargreaves has long had a fascination with food – you might recognise his previous series where he photographed the last meal requests from America’s death row.

This set of photographs developed when he saw a video of Japanese kids trying to deep fry a PSP and eat it.

He explains:

‘I loved the idea and thought it could be expanded and photographed in a beautiful way’

Dildos at the ready.

A significantly more fun way to talk about STI prevention.

Alex Xander is a man who is committed to fighting STIs. To raise awareness of the importance of regular HIV and STI checks, he decided to do something he’d always wanted to try: a mass dildo war.

Filmed for his show Xander World, the dildo wars took place in New York’s Union Square over the second weekend of August, after initially being shut down by authorities who weren’t too enthused about the idea of a bunch of dildos flying around the city.

Every attendee was sorted into a side before being given a dildo. They were then encouraged to get stuck… Read the full story

Happy International Left-handers Day!

As you can see from the above compilation of famous faces, all the best people are left-handed.

And, as lefties, we all remember the day we realised we weren’t quite the same as everyone else.

Having inherited my left-handedness from my grandma, mine was in primary school when the class was deemed adult enough to switch to fountain pens.

Guess what happens to your hand, sleeve and forearm if you’re writing into wet ink instead of away from it?

Here’s 12 more things you only understand if you’re a leftie.

Investigative journalist Anna Richardson is pushing the boundaries in order to expose the depths of revenge porn and online misogyny for a hard hitting new Channel 4 documentary.

Putting herself in the firing line on dedicated revenge porn websites, Richardson experimented by uploading nude selfies of herself and was left stunned by the vile responses that came pouring through about her.

The show, called Revenge Porn, sees Richardson’s journey from uploading the images right through to the consequences of that, as well as talking to victims of real-life cases.

Speaking to The Sun about taking part in the documentary, Richardson, the partner of Sue Perkins, said: ‘Revenge porn is dangerous and everybody should be aware of the risks. The only way I felt… Read the full story

Pimms = summer staple (Picture: Alan Crowhurst/Getty)

The humble British summer has a bad reputation.

Sure, we may not always get the weather we hoped for and, yes, many of us suffer with hay fever while the rest of us spend a lot of time running from big, angry wasps.

But there is a certain unique nature to the British summer, which no other country’s could ever match.

Here’s 19 of the most British things about summer.

1. Flood alerts

It’s not an British summer without at least one incident of localised flooding due to a burst river bank.

Better have a few brollies and pairs of wellies nearby just in case.

2. Adding fruit to alcohol

Soon as the sun comes out you turn to your trusty friend, Pimm’s.

Classier than beer, and makes it legit… Read the full story
