*SMIZE* (Picture: Youtube/ Maggie V)

As a recent survey revealed – most of us have taken a selfie at some point.

Which means that most of us have at one time or another, looked as utterly ridiculous as this woman.

Filmed trying to take the perfect selfie – in a children’s playground of all places (really?) – she spends an astonishing 90 seconds (which is longer than you think) smizing into her phone like a maniac.

Yes it’s nice to have a least one photo of yourself where both your eyes are open and you don’t have a double chin…

… but is it worth looking like this much of a plonker… Read the full story

Hello baby, goodbye social life (Picture: Getty)

Well, this is a bit miserable.

According to biological anthropologist Dr. Helen Fisher, having your first child can make you more depressed than losing a spouse, thanks to all the loneliness and isolation that sets in post-baby.

During an appearance on CBS, Dr. Fisher explained that when you have a child your social circle assumes you’re happy, and everyone pretty much leaves you to do all the new baby stuff alone.

Meanwhile, when you’re going through a divorce, or you’ve lost your spouse, everyone jumps into help.

When you have a baby, says Dr. Fisher, ‘you get some presents from various friends, and then they just leave you alone because they figure you’re too tired… Read the full story

Actually incredible (Picture: Jasenko Dordeciv

Instead of using pencils to create art, Bosnian artist Jasenko Dordeciv turns the pencil into the artwork itself.

Dordevic creates incredibly detailed miniature sculptures on the tip of graphite pencils using just a small knife and chisel.

He doesn’t even use a magnifying glass, which is kind of incredible when you think about how tiny the tops of pencils are.

Because acting like you’re in a movie is ALWAYS romantic. Fact.

A dude on Tinder is gaining major props all over the internet, after he owned the dating game by pretending to be Forrest Gump on Tinder, and sharing his results to Imgur.

The trolling attempt actually went unexpectedly well whichever way you look at it, because not only did she respond in a hilarious ‘nope, no idea what you’re doing’ fashion, but she’s also definitely interested in landing a date with Blake/Forrest.

Well, this is cool.

A new study claims that there’s a really interesting reason behind our eyes flickering while we sleep, and it’s all to do with the mystery of dreams.

Researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles implanted electrodes into the brains of 19 people over the course of four years to analyse the activities of neurons in the medial temporal lobe – the part of the brain that bridges the gap between visual perception and memories.

Across the pond, Hillary Clinton is going hard on her take on ‘engaging with the youth’, chatting with the 18-25 demographic through the power of emoji.

Blanchard describes the video:

‘It is an experimental dreamlike video rocking us smoothly through circular moves.

‘An analogy of feelings, such as anger, love, sadness and joy. They mix and eventually ease.’

16 things you should NEVER say to new parents

You look tired (Picture: Getty)

The birth of a new baby is a magical event, but it’s all too easy to offend, upset or completely alienate the proud new parents with a few ill-chosen words.

Here are 15 things you really shouldn’t say to new parents.

1. ‘You look tired!’

So would you if you hadn’t slept for a month. Also, don’t talk about your own post-pub sleepless night or interrupted afternoon nap if you like being alive.

2. ‘Wait until they’re a toddler/pre-teen/teenager!’

Do you go up to pensioners and say ‘wait until you can’t walk, or get dementia!’ Of course you don’t. But some people seem to take great pleasure in telling parents that things are going to get much, much worse.

3. Anything about… Read the full story

Yes, this has all the cals.

So guys, this is a chocolate covered beer and bacon battered deep fried ice cream sandwich… which we’re helpfully nicknaming ‘The kitchen sink’.

This calorific culinary catastrophe/ triumph is the work of Nick, who runs the Dude Foods blog.

Explaining how something so utterly perverse entered his mind, he wrote: ‘I just had a few ice cream sandwiches left in my freezer… and as I was about to eat one I got to thinking about how it’s been a while since I deep fried anything with beer and bacon batter.’

Premier Estates Wine have launched its first ever advertising campaign and people are wondering if it’s a joke.

It looks like they may have drank a little too much of their own product when brainstorming ideas and unleashed that adolescent part of the brain that still giggles at phrases like ‘nice bush’.

Because this is genuinely what the charming actress says in the ad as a wine glass is placed suggestively in front of her: ”Australia practically jumps out of the glass – in fact, some say you can almost taste the bush.’

Today’s proof that humanity isn’t doomed…

30-year-old Brooke Ochoa from Louise, Texas, has been hailed ‘the nicest person on Facebook’, after her random act of kindness went viral.

Last Thursday Brooke went to lunch. She was dining alone, and when she heard an elderly woman who entered just behind her asking for a table for one, she decided to do something radical.

She asked the woman if she’d like to join her, and eat together.

The other woman – who’s named Delores – was ‘ecstatic’.

Kind of wish this was the only type of situation we had to deal with.

When kittens meet cute kids, internet gold is made.

One little boy named Ryder got himself into a bit of a situation, in the endless struggle of trying to corral five kittens. Life can be tough, man. Especially when kittens are involved.

Watch as he continues to fight the good fight, carrying each kitten – or as he puts it, each situation – back to the blanket after it ignores his commands and follows him across the garden.

Adorbs.
