Many people have bought something faulty from the supermarket.

Starbucks is putting cake in their drinks now

Whether that’s an out of date lettuce or an over-ripe avocado, we’ve all been there.

Most of us just throw it away and get on with it, others write a complaint to the shop – but one man went above and beyond to express his dismay at purchasing a faulty bottle of ketchup from Morrisons.

David Collinson tweeted the store to ask why he’d been sold a bottle of ketchup that had decided to self-destruct in his cupboard.

He shared a photo of the ketchup explosion, which made… Read the full story

If the resultant sugar coma that follows drinking an entire Starbucks Frappuccino isn’t enough for you, we have good news.

Starbucks in Japan are now adding actual real life cake to the drinks.

Basically, it’s like a slightly toned down freakshake.

There are two cake-based drinks that you can get your hands on.

The American Cherry Pie Frappuccino which includes a bottom and top layer of cherry compote, a vanilla Frappuccino base studded with bite-sized pie pieces, whipped cream, and the pie crust domed top, of course.

Typically, modern mums separate their babies from their bodies with a snip of the umbilical cord.

Sometimes the dad gets involved in the snip for added fun.

But for many women, this sudden cut gets rid of the immense significance of taking the final step to remove the baby from the mother’s body.

Instead of a cut, they’re opting to treat the moment as something more intimate, by holding a cord burning ceremony.

Yes, that does indeed mean that mother burn their umbilical cords rather than just cutting them off.

But we never go out out together.

I’m getting married in three and a half weeks.

Birth photographer captures the moment a mother burns away her umbilical cord

That’s the plan, at least. I’m feeling good about it – no second thoughts, no cold feet.

But, despite having every intention of going through with the wedding, I’ve realised that if anything terrible did happen (cheating, previous murder conviction, secret Donald Trump fan) no-one has ever told me how you go about calling off a wedding.

So, while I’m very excited about becoming a wife, I decided to put some research into it. Because, if you ever do feel like you… Read the full story

Sex is an important part of any couple’s relationship.

But after giving birth, when it hurts just to go to the toilet, the thought of having to resume love-making can be worrying.

Yes, yes and yes. That’s three times, in case it wasn’t already obvious.

6 things people still get wrong about sex work

One of the things that I miss about sex work is the uncomplicated, unwritten rules of it all – you’re there for a good time, not a long time.

But what if it goes beyond that, and you, as the sex worker, end up wanting more than just sex?

(Just FYI, I’m still single so – spoilers – it didn’t work out.)

Vanity? Or narcissism? (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Despite popular belief, a narcissist isn’t someone who spends all day admiring their reflection or posting endless selfies.

That’s just vanity.

12 things to do if you think you’re depressed

Genuine narcissists have a condition called Narcissistic Personality Disorder, which is a form of mental illness.

If your partner is a narcissist, it goes way beyond high self-esteem.

They can be hell to live with, they can destroy your confidence and they can make you feel utterly worthless.

I have been insecure about my body for as long as I can remember.

I’ve never liked my stomach, my arms or my chest – but I was always most self-conscious about my legs.

I come from a family of ‘bottom-heavy girls’. It doesn’t matter what weight I’ve been, my legs have always been the largest part of my body.

When I was younger, I went through a stage of trying to kick my confidence issues in the butt by wearing skirts, but the comment ‘Her… Read the full story

In our semi-regular sessions of eating puddings while sitting in the dark, binge-watching Netflix, we have all too often awoken the next morning to find ourselves covered in all matter of crumbs and stains.

It’s not our fault, to be clear. Eating food in the dark is tough. It’s hard to make sure you get something in your mouth when you can’t see it.

This article is part of Hair Care, our month-long investigation and exploration into our relationships with hair and the cultural implications that come with it.

I have dyed my hair more times than I can remember, and practically killed it in the process.

How manic bipolar episodes have caused my impulsive hair changes

Since the age of fourteen I have bleached my naturally golden hair, I have dyed it pastel pink, carnation pink, lilac, and silver, before going brunette, red, black, and back to brunette again.

While I’m pretty proud to say I haven’t dyed my hair in over half a year now, using product after product on it to get it back to its soft self, I’ve still got a long way to go until it’s back to how I’d like it.

That’s if I’m not tempted to dye it once again.

It’s pretty annoying when you notice that someone can only have compassion for women by imagining if said women were their daughters or wives.

You know, because women are human beings, and deserve rights and respect regardless of their relationship to a man.

But it turns out that there’s a reason loads of men keep invoking the daughter reference – because research suggests that having a daughter actually does make men less sexist.

What is Universal Credit? How applying for benefits destroyed my life

Universal Credit is advertised as ‘welfare that works’ or ‘making work pay’.

Those slogans couldn’t be any further from the truth.

When I read them for the first time, I laughed.

What else can you do? It’s laugh or cry, and trust me, Universal Credit makes you want to do more than cry. It makes you want to give up completely.

Teenager killed himself ‘after being belittled by JobCentre staff’

More than that, it forces you out of a life. It pushes the vulnerable into crisis.

I say this, because it’s what I experienced.

I applied for Universal Credit when I was unemployed last year, and ended up being pushed into homelessness, poverty and abuse.

It’s common for people to think that those who apply for welfare are lazy.

In fact, Victoria Derbyshire recently posted a clip of Jack Monroe, an author and activist, speaking with Toff from Made in Chelsea.… Read the full story

We know that there are certain foods that aren’t allowed, but for most of us, that’s about it.

Muslim women have to stay aware of all the other little things, created by brands that regularly fail to provide a diverse range of products to accommodate people’s needs – whether that’s a limited range of foundation shades or ingredients that don’t meet halal guidelines.
