Sugar is incredibly delicious but we’re becoming increasingly aware of its disastrous effect on our health.

It causes all kinds of damage to our teeth and waistlines. It increases our chances of developing fatty liver damage, diabetes, heart disease. It can cause you to feel sluggish, bad tempered, scatty.

What does it mean to be a pillow princess?

And many of us are completely hooked on it, which is why I’ve been trying to cut down.

A month ago, I went cold turkey for a week – swapping my daily bowls of sugary flapjacks and smoothies for avocados and cheese crackers and water.

Based on the Greek and Latin for ‘many loves’, a polyamorous person is not someone who cheats, contrary to popular opinion.

We spend a sickening amount of our lives in work, which means we eat there a lot.

Lunch, at least, is normally a workplace meal and whether that’s al-desko or al-fresco, you can bank on your colleagues being around at some point.

You can probably also bank on somebody commenting on your choice of meal. So, we’re here to tell all culprits of this to stop.

Another day another Donald Trump headline, it seems. This time he’s been accused of sexism, after calling an Irish reporter up to his desk, and pointing out how beautiful her smile was.

Stop food-shaming in the office

While on the phone to the Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Trump called on Caitriona Perry and asked her where she’s from.

When she confirms her name and that she’s from RTE, he says to Varadkar, ‘she has a nice smile on her face so I bet she treats you well.’

It’s at best creepy, and at worst truly sexist, with… Read the full story

As a woman in her 20s, I am well acquainted with dating apps, particularly that hub of hookup potential we call Tinder.

Over the years, most of my chats on this platform have followed a similar pattern: small talk, decent banter, switch to WhatsApp, then BAM. Dick pic on the screen.

It’s a bit full on. I mean, at least wine and dine a girl before showing her your crown jewels.

The day I was prescribed anti-psychotics, my life changed forever.

NARS is no longer a cruelty-free brand

Over the course of two years, my moods had become uncontrollable. I was extremely quick to anger and I could go from having the best day ever to being completely inconsolable quicker than you could count to three.

Though I’m embarrassed to admit it, I became violent. Not in the sense of attacking anyone, but when I lost it, I would smash things up and hurt myself, desperate to come down from my screaming and shouting.

I was hard to live with. My moods… Read the full story

Few of us actually like bikini shopping.

maternity doggo photoshootPregnant dog Fusee gets the glorious maternity photoshoot she deserves

There’s the horror of looking at your semi-naked bod in the deeply unflattering lighting of a changing room. The discomfort of that little plastic strip in the bikini bottoms. The close analysis of straps to ensure they won’t snap when you jump and unveil your nips to the world.

When you’re plus-size or curvy, things get even harder.

You need a bikini top with some support and underwiring. You might need bottoms that are bigger than the top. Finding a bikini that keeps your tits firmly… Read the full story

In the excerpt, Simone Milasas shares some, erm, unusual advice for getting out of debt and sorting out your finances.

How taking anti-psychotics changed my life for the better

And people aren’t buying it.

Among her advice is creating the 10% rule, which means you put away 10% of everything you earn ‘as an honouring of you’.

This 10% is not for saving or for bills. It’s for treating yourself.

Simone has used her 10% to buy gold, silver, diamonds, and pearls, because it is ‘fun’ for her. She… Read the full story

All adults who grew up in the 90s, in a time before Jamie Oliver ruined our fun and tried to make kids eat healthy food and stop downing pure sugar, will remember the joy of Billy Bear ham.
