It’s a funny thing, sleep.

If you’re a good sleeper, the kind of person who gets a solid eight hours a night, and nods of as soon as your head hits the pillow, you won’t give it much thought.

When sleep is easy, it’s like breathing. Natural. Second nature.

But it’s not like that for everyone. Anyone who has known the panicky, miserable experience of being exhausted by totally unable to sleep, will tell you that there comes a point where you’re willing to try pretty much anything if there’s a chance it’ll give you some relief.

Jim and Pam (before they actually fell in love and got married). Mindy Lahiri and Peter Prentice. Liz Lemon and Jack Donaghy.

Having a work spouse can be great.

You joke together. You bitch about your boss. You have in-jokes about that one person’s habit of hitting reply all, the weird noise the fridge makes, and that one time someone said ‘semi’ in a professional context and you both giggled.

There’s nothing romantic going on, obviously.

Hey, Vogue: Sharing clothes does not make Gigi and Zayn icons of gender fluidity

But he is your work husband. She is your work wife. You are work-married, forming each other’s primary relationship in office hours.

A recent study from totaljobs revealed that two thirds of UK workers say they have a work spouse, who they message outside of work, hang out with, and generally count as a very close mate.

69% of these people have a relationship with… Read the full story

We like to ask the big questions, here at Metro Lifestyle.

And today’s big question? How do vegans deal with pubic lice? Or, for that matter, any other kind of lice?

How do vegans deal with pubic lice?

Just in case you don’t know what the principles of veganism are, the Vegan Society defines veganism as such:

‘Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.’

Now, no-one likes lice. Lice are gross, and yucky, and lots of other words that you usually only hear from small children. But, they are still animals (technically) even though they’re not cute like pigs or lambs.

It might not seem like it, but being a wedding guest carries great responsibility.
