‘For me anorexia just became like a diseased coping mechanism, the same way some people turn to drink and drugs,’ says comedian Dave Chawner.
‘It was about approval, it was about addiction, it was about control.’
Dave was speaking about his history of eating disorders in the latest episode of our mental health podcast, Mentally Yours.
He also explains how it began in his teens and he went to the GP about physical symptoms but neither he not his doctor realised they were a result of anorexia.
