phonebrella lets you hold an umbrella while you text in the rain
All our texting-related prayers are answered (Picture: Youtube/KT Design)

Finally, an answer to one of the greatest first world problems of our time.

South Korean mobile phone carrier KT has just come up with the one product we’ve all been desperately waiting for, but have been too lazy to get around to inventing: an umbrella you can use while you text.

The design’s genius lies in a special C-shaped handle, which you slide on to your arm.

This allows you to keep both hands free for all kinds of fun stuff.

Like Google mapping directions, holding a cup of coffee and talking on the phone at the… Read the full story

Some people think kisses like these are ‘too sexual’ (Picture: Alamy)

Parents are getting involved in a huge debate after a doctor’s comment that kissing your kids on the lips is ‘too sexual’ resurfaced.

An article in Your Tango on whether to kiss your kids on the lips or not referenced the controversial statement made by child psychologist and UCLA professor Dr. Charlotte Reznick.

Dr. Reznick said: ‘The kiss on the lips can be stimulating … It’s just too confusing. If mommy kisses daddy on the mouth and vice versa, what does that mean, when I, a little girl or boy, kiss my parents on the mouth?

‘If I had to answer when to stop kissing your… Read the full story

WESTON-SUPER-MARE, ENGLAND - AUGUST 20: A steward is seen outside Bansky's 'Dismaland' exhibition, which opens tomorrow, at a derelict seafront lido on August 20, 2015 in Weston-Super-Mare, England. Welcome to Banksy’s Dismaland, the unhappiest place on earth.

The street artist’s parody of Disneyland opened to Weston-super-Mare locals today before the ‘official’ opening tomorrow (August 22) and it’s as wonderfully depressing and subversive as promised. Helped by the crap British summer weather of course.

Banksy promised it would be a ‘family theme park unsuitable for children,’ where he… Read the full story

Run away! (Picture: PJPhoto69)

Er, terrified isn’t even the word.

Going to the dentist is like living through your worst nightmare but while awake, in real life, with some added mouth pain and plastic goggles.

Anyone that says the dentist isn’t that scary is wrong. BE AFRAID.

Here’s 11 reasons you’re absolutely right to be terrified of the dentist.

1. Unnerving receptionists

Too many stern looks, too much staring.

Just hold my hand and give me a hug, I’m terrified.

2. Waiting rooms

That calm, relaxing nature music is fooling no one.

I know you have a drill and needles, and me and my gums might just jump over the table of magazines and do a runner.

3. The noises

Before you even get in there, you can hear drilling,… Read the full story

A mum’s thank you note to the boy who saw her disabled son just like any other kid has touched thousands online (Picture: Kaden’s Cure for SMA/Facebook)

Katie Myers’ one-year-old son Kaden has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a genetic disease that causes muscle weakness and progressive loss of movement.

It means he needs a wheelchair and struggles with some movements.

It can also mean people only see his disability.

So when, during a recent family trip to the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach, a young boy came over and started to help Kaden play with some of the interactive exhibits, treating him just like any other kid, mum Katie was really moved.

So moved in fact that she wrote a… Read the full story

The happiest, sausage-iest race the world has ever seen.

A German beer bar called Hophaus is hosting Australia’s first ever sausage dog race this month, to raise money for Dachshund Rescue Australia.

The inaugural Teckelrennen (German for dachshund race), will take place on Saturday 19 September in Southgate, Melbourne.

It will obviously be brilliant.

No animal tops the sausage dog in athletic prowess.

Add this to your wedding Pinterest board.

Couple Rachel and Patrick Givens just owned the wedding party game, trading in the usual rule for picking out the flower girl – youngest member of the family/any toddler willing to wear a princessy dress –  for something a bit more awesome.

Celebrating their love for the older members of the family, the couple decided to ask their grandmas to do the honours.

Grandma of the bride Renee, also known as DD, (in the silver outfit), and grandma to the groom Joanne (in white), enthusiastically accepted, and proceeded to steal the show.

Behold: the best flower girls of all time.

‘Let me take your coat. White wine or fizz?’

Good to see that, even at a sex party, people remember their manners.

On a Saturday night in Surrey, a group of complete strangers are about to strip naked and spend the evening drinking champagne and shagging like rabbits.

Welcome to the world of private swinging parties.

With apps like 3inder and events such as Killing Kittens and Fever Parties becoming more mainstream, swinging no longer carries the social stigma it once did.

I met the hosts of this party, David and Claudia, a good-looking couple in their early forties, through Twitter.

David said: ‘I first mentioned it a long time ago – but my wife wasn’t comfortable with the idea.

Blackpool Pier and tower illuminations

In recent years it’s been easy to make fun of Blackpool because of the hen and stag parties that often fill its clubs and streets.

However, as Tim Burton gets ready to switch on the town’s famous illuminations, it’s time to look again at one of Britain’s most treasured, traditional seaside towns, as we give you some great reasons why Blackpool is actually brilliant…

1. Pepsi Max Big One

Let’s start with obvious. Rising above the town to a cheek clenching 235ft, this is Britain’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster, which, as well as shooting your stomach into your mouth, will also offer astonishing views of the surrounding area, albeit at 87mph.

2. Big beaches

Great photobombing skills from Luigi (Picture: Megan Saul, as featured on Offbeat Bride)

This wedding will have gaming nerds and nerdettes all over the country swooning over their joysticks.

This adorable couple from Dallas, America, love the 80s Nintendo game Super Mario so much, they themed their entire wedding around it.

Sheana and Mark said their vows in Dallas last September to the tune of the Super Mario theme song. Literally.

Please take a second to imagine and appreciate.

We wonder how they managed keep a straight face?

The bride was Princess Peach perfect in a pink dress complete with a crown and beautiful peach bouquet.

Pet accessories have gone high-tech.

Pet supply company Squeaker has just unveiled a new dog collar called Buddy, that’s pretty much revolutionising the pet-based wearable tech game.

Basically, it’s a smart watch for your dog.

It has a bunch of fancy features, and snazzy automatically adjusting LED lights that – as well as looking cool – ensure your dog is seen when it’s dark outside.

So, what does it actually do?

First off, the big one: it tracks your dog’s whereabouts with real-time GPS, which could pretty much eradicate the problem of dogs running off and getting lost.

These are monsters not milkshakes (Picture: Alana Dimou)

The milkshakes in Australia have become obscene – nothing is safe from being whipped into a milky froth.

Their shakes have become monsters topped with doughnuts, smeared with Nutella and covered in sweets.

And we thought America was bad.

People are losing their minds over these Nutella doughnut milkshakes and we don’t blame them

Food photographer and blogger Alana Dimou lamented the growing trend for ridiculous milkshakes in Sydney on her blog.

She wrote: ‘They’re everywhere, and everyone’s got one, and everyone’s holding one of these extreme milkshakes, gnashing at food for the sake of social media, exchanging calories for notifications.’

No, we don’t hate men (Picture: Getty)

Feminism is a great movement because it promotes the belief that men and women should be treated equally and have equal opportunities. Simple, right?

Erm, not quite. Although you meet so many wonderful people that have similar beliefs to you, every so often you bump into someone who is determined to test your patience by throwing a few ridiculous remarks your way.

Here’s 13 things feminists are sick of hearing.

1. You must hate all men, right?

Every time you hear this you take a deep breath and explain carefully that no, no you do not.

You just don’t like anyone who seeks to put women down, and it doesn’t make a difference to you whether they are male or female.

2. So do you… Read the full story
