Barbie’s street cred has just gone way up (Picture: METRO/mylo)

Poor Barbie, she’s been wearing heels for a looong time.

It’s 56 years to be precise. Ouch.

Its safe to say she’s been a bit behind the times.

We don’t know many girls who wear ridiculous stiletto heels morning, noon and night (and if they do – they’re crazy).

So this year, rather than give Barbie a new career, not only has she finally been given flat shoes, but she’s also become more ethnically diverse through the newly launched Fashionistas range too.

In a major step in the right direction, Mattel will be releasing a wide variety of models in different shapes and… Read the full story

Giorgia is fed up of hiding under layers of clothes because of her psoriasis (Picture: SWNS)

Giorgia Lanuzza used to hate stares from strangers, but, these days, when she wears a bikini, she wants people to look.

The 24-year-old from Basingstoke, who has suffered from painful psoriasis since the age of 13, says she’s finally learnt to feel beautiful in her own skin and now hopes to inspire others with the skin condition.

Giorgia admits she felt like a ‘freak’ throughout her teens and would cover herself in layers so people couldn’t seen the inflamed red blotches which cover her skin.

‘My psoriasis looks like red, raised spots and people looked at me as if I was disgusting and they might catch something,’ she says. ‘People would stop… Read the full story

Who would want to ruin this cat’s home? (Picture: Facebook/Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium)

London’s first cat cafe has proved popular since it first opened in 2014, but one catty individual clearly doesn’t hold the place in such high regard.

A person unknown has defaced the beloved cat cafe with graffiti.

Why anyone would want to vandalise Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, the home of 12 beautiful felines, is beyond us.

Cat hangs around school so much he got his own ID card

However, some monster scrawled ‘free the cats’ in red writing across the shutters last week.

The perpetrator clearly missed the point of the place, as Lady Dinah’s takes in rescue cats that would otherwise… Read the full story

What was so wrong with pumpkins and skeletons?

These days, Halloween seems to be all about the bad taste cultural reference – sexy Ebola nurse anyone? And Halloween 2015 has already got off to a flyer with this Caitlyn Jenner ‘Call Me Caitlyn’ costume, based on her iconic Vanity Fair cover.

Apparently, the costume, available from Wholesale Halloween Costumes, Anytime Costumes, and the Spirit Halloween retail chain, is guaranteed to ‘make you the top news story of the night.’

Well, yes, that’s probably true.

There’s already a Change.org petition calling for the costume to be recalled. ‘We demand that you revoke your ideas and production of a Caitlyn Jenner costume for Halloween,’ the petition begins.

Man discovers there is something very unnerving about a field of silent kangaroos

First there was the news that a kangaroo with ‘intimidatingly’ large pecs was stalking a town in Australia. And now this.

This video shows footage captured by a lone cyclist travelling through Hawkstowe Park, 23km from Melbourne, and it’s pretty unnerving.

Cyclist Ben Vezina is heard whispering ‘I’m going to be honest, I’m a little bit terrified,’ as he cycles throught the park, full of silent, motionless kangaroos, at dusk.

As he moves through the watchful group, several start to move, appearing to regroup further down the path.

Of course, eastern grey kangaroos are not considered dangerous to humans – unless provoked.

A female boss effectively works 100 minutes for free every single day because of the gender pay gap, according to a new survey.

That works out as 57 ‘free’ days a year.

According to the survey of  72,000 managers in the UK, the average pay for female managers of all ages, across all roles, is £30,612. A man in an equivalent job is paid £39,136.

While the £8,524 pay gap is a slight improvement on 2014 (when it was £9,069), it’s still an aching 22 per cent gap. Which means that female bosses effectively work unpaid for one hour and 40 minutes each day.

A fresh take on the florals trend.

Grace Ciao is a fashion illustrator from Singapore who creates stunning designs using real flower petals, detailed illustration, and watercolour painting.

The results are so pretty and delicate, we just wish that an actual dress made of flowers was a realistic option. For red carpet events, sure. But also to wear to work, or whatever.

Grace already counts thousands as fans of her work, with over 48,000 Instagram followers and commissions from major brands, including Jaeger Lecoultre and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Grace pairs her petals with detailed watercolour painting.

Cue an anxious countdown until payday comes back around, to bless your bank account with riches.

WHEN you are expecting your first child you become obsessed with getting everything ‘ready for the baby’.

You are determined to be prepared for everything from childbirth to bringing home your precious new born. Then you have the baby and realise that most of the preparations were of no use whatsoever.

Here are few things from my Pre-Childbirth To Do List:

1. Pack hospital bag with snacks, make up, music, books and laptop as I will probably be in labour for days (like on One Born Every Minute).

2. Try to empty my bowels twice a day so I don’t poo myself while in labour (like woman on One Born Every Minute).

3. Get new bikini and make music playlist… Read the full story

Handy: a graph has charted out the most reliable way to give women orgasms.

In 2009, the National Survey of Sex and Behaviour asked 1,931 US adults aged 18 to 59 about their most recent sexual experiences.

They found a major orgasm gap between the genders, with men achieving orgasms 91% of the time they had sex, versus 64% of the time for women.

Interestingly enough, there was also a gap in the perception of orgasms. 85% of men said that their female partner had orgasmed – a significantly higher number than the percentage of women who confirmed that they actually had.

This is what the Tube would look like without commuters. Bliss isn’t it?

Imagine getting onto empty train carriages, walking through echoing stairwells, and riding miles of empty train tracks with no signalling problems.

This is what it’s like Underground when everyone’s gone home. Or after a zombie apocalypse perhaps.

The stunning, although somewhat eery, images of a deserted tube network were taken by New York photographer Aaron Pegg, who specialises in capturing city transport networks as you’ve never seen them before.

Couple dating
You often wonder why your dates never go like this (Picture: Getty Images)

Whoever tries to suggest that all guys are the same, clearly know nothing about the male species.

Guys come in a variety of shapes, types and sizes. But despite the differences in their outward appearance they do have some things in common – they are equally capable of making you laugh or annoying you, and sometimes even breaking your heart.

1. The posh one

You probably met this one somewhere down South and his parents more than likely had an official title, and counted members of the English Aristocracy as some of their closest chums.

You broke up because he insisted on wearing a tweed jacket and hunting boots to a night out in Oceana. Tragic.

Love is an amazing thing. There is nothing quite like the excitement and happiness it can bring.

The butterflies, the sparks, feeling like you are smiling so wide your face might actually break.

But It doesn’t matter how amazing you are.

At some point in your romantic life you will most likely be the victim of rejection.

And you know what? That sh*t seriously hurts.

Not every date you go on or relationship you get in will be a success.

And while you may fall madly and deeply in love, the other person might not always feel that way and before you know it, you will be back home in your PJs wondering where it all went wrong.

Unrequited love is the worst. It is painful both mentally and physically… Read the full story
