Most of us reflect, occasionally, on what we wish we had known when we were younger.

Or, perhaps, what we’d like young women right now to be aware of. But Sophia Tassew has gone one better than just thinking about it. She’s actually giving the advice out.

Hey Zadie Smith, women are not 'fools' for enjoying makeup

Sophia tweeted yesterday that she was standing at Kings Cross, giving out sheets of paper titled ‘Boy Poison’ to girls and young women.

The writing, which is somewhere between a poem, a statement and a prayer, gives young women some simple pieces of advice to follow.

The full text of Boy Poison reads: Give them direct eye contact. Speak with a loud clear voice.… Read the full story

Love isn’t all about the grand gestures and three little words.

10 signs that reveal you are probably in love

Real, proper love is in the little incidental details.

I recently I did a shoddy job of paining a plant pot on a hen do and my boyfriend asked if he could use it as a pen pot on his desk.

Being blind to my useless artistic endeavours is as clear a sign of devotion as I am ever likely to get.

Here are 16 other ways you can spot if your boyfriend… Read the full story

When Missguided teamed up with Barbie, we knew it would be big.

The BARBIExMISSGUIDED collection launched to ‘celebrate Barbie as a part of their ongoing Babes of Missguided movement’ and each piece of clothing was designed with the ‘feminist spirit of 2017’ in mind to ‘capture the energy of diverse, inspiring and cool young women’.

And we’re all for a collection that celebrates #GRLPOWER.

We don’t know about you, but we were (and still are) pretty darn stoked about the new collab which sees our favourite childhood doll teaming up with one of our favourite retailers. It’s nostalgia at its finest.

However, much to our disappointment Barbie broke the internet on its launch and within 24… Read the full story

Everyone deserves a friendship like Jojo and Alan.

Hey Zadie Smith, women are not 'fools' for enjoying makeup

In terms of their bond, we mean. You don’t need to be a cat and monkey.

That’s what Jojo and Alan are, to be clear. Jojo is a monkey. Alan is a cat. But they’ve managed to put aside their differences and become best friends.

Their friendship started by chance.

Back in 2011, Jojo the macaque monkey was rescued from a restaurant in Thailand, where he’d lived in a cage to be used as a prop for customers’ photos.

Every meat-lover should try this vegan ‘bacon’ mac and cheese

Honestly, this is actually better than the real thing (Picture: Mikey Pozarik)

The absolute worst thing about vegan life is undoubtedly the cheese (or lack thereof).

Anyone who says they like vegan cheese is a liar and probably had their taste buds burnt off as a child. The substitute is appallingly bland and has a texture offensive to almost every sense including sound.

Here’s a potential spoiler for anyone considering having babies: the pregnancy bit is not as graceful and blissful as it may appear in the Sex and the City movie or on Beyoncé’s Instagram.

What to do when you match with someone you know on Tinder

It’s tough.

Along with the opportunity to shop from the nice maternity section (not being with child should prevent you from jeans with stretchy waistbands, in my opinion), pregnant women also face exhaustion, mood swings, aches and pains, and constipation.

Plus a whole load of other super fun symptoms they’re expect to battle through while also lugging around a tiny… Read the full story

Why did I let myself get so overweight?

0

When embarking on a weight loss journey, many of us will take a good, long look at ourselves in the mirror and think ‘How did this happen?’

It’s hard to face up to the physical effects an extended period of overeating has had on your body, and even harder to work out why things went downhill.

The moment I realised I had to lose weight

There are many reasons why I’ve never been a healthy weight, and as time went on, I became more and more in denial about how disordered my eating habits actually were.

It all started when I was a kid. Growing up, I was part of a culture that revolved around food. It was used as a treat, a bargaining tool, a physical piece of sympathy when something went wrong. And, as I increasingly began to see food as the answer to all of life’s problems,… Read the full story

Well, we’ve already killed off boobs and marmalade, might as well ruin all other fun things, too.

According to new research, the traditional stag party is DEAD. And it’s all at the hands of millennials.

Why did I let myself get so overweight?

Surf Snowdonia (who are probably quite keen to get grooms-to-be to do fancy surf parties instead of the usual getting hammered at a strip club thing, so take their words with a pinch of salt) reports that there’s been a surge in popularity of more experience-based stag parties, rather than nights of debauchery and pints.

Men are increasingly… Read the full story
