Wedding planning is stressful. You have venues to pick, dresses to try on and weird things like ‘buttonholes’ to mull over.

You know what’s more stressful than wedding planning?

Having to call the whole thing off.

That’s right, the girl writing a series in the run up to her wedding didn’t even make it down the aisle.

Life can be a bit of shithead, can’t it?

Without going into too much depth; it was a very sudden and unexpected breakup.

After it all crashed and burned, I was left wading through the shrapnel of my life, trying to make sense of it all.

    Oh, hey, fellow face-metal holders.

Perhaps you have a ring or stud through your nose, tracing your septum, or perhaps both at once. If so, you are one of the thousands of people who have had their nose pierced in the UK.

In a bid to debunk the myths and offer a gesture of solidarity to fellow nose-pierced brethren, here are some home truths about the reality of getting and maintaining a nose jewel smack bang in the middle of your face.

You’ll probably know Chontel Duncan as that super-fit mum and fitness model who managed to have toned abs while pregnant.

metro illustrationsHow a guy acts during a pregnancy scare tells you everything you need to know

She drew some controversy for working out while pregnant (which she’s entirely free to do) and for sharing a bunch of photos of her in incredible shape post-giving-birth, with many suggesting she was placing unfair pressure on other mums to do the same.

But let’s be clear: Just because her Instagram shows off Chontel’s toned pregnancy tum, that doesn’t mean she had a… Read the full story

Hands up: Who else needs a holiday? (Picture: Getty Images)

Winter is coming. The heavy jacket has already started to become one of my fashion staples, and it’s still September.

    (Picture: NYC Pizza Run)

Every few weeks, a thought comes to us: Maybe we’ll run a 5k.

Couple redesign their home to make it the perfect place for cats and books

A 5k is easy, right? We’ll knock it out in half an hour then feel accomplished for the rest of the day. A 5k is what cool, fit grownups do.

We pick a 5k nearby, we get our trainers ready, and then, well, we don’t actually do it. Because we are deeply lazy people and need some extra motivation to run anywhere for any amount of time.

You can always trust in the kindness of strangers.

They just might not deliver that kindness in exactly the way you were expecting.

Man's request for birthday pints backfires when strangers send him milk and Fruit Shoots

But when strangers on the internet come together, you’re guaranteed to get something pretty special.

Take Nick. It was his birthday yesterday, and to celebrate he and his friends went to the Bankers Draft Wetherspoons in Sheffield, where his mate Rory, who we know as @RoryMeeps decided to send a tweet.

That tweet would change Nick’s birthday night in ways he could never have imagined.

There are jitters. Worries about what could go wrong. The scary feeling of being without each other for the day.

You’ve got enough to think about without worrying about your vag. (Picture: Ella Byworth for MEtro.co.uk)

I tried spinning for the first time yesterday.

Can you catch an STI from spinning?

At least, I tried proper spinning for the first time. I’ve gone along to my local gym and cheerfully pedaled away while a slightly paunchy middle aged man played Taio Cruz and manually flicked the lights on and off.

This was a different kettle of fish. The whole special shoes that clip on to the bike and wondering if I’m having a heart attack nine yards. And as I pedaled away, wondering if the… Read the full story

Ah, oral sex. It’s a wonderful thing. And it sounds so simple – but in reality, it’s not.

metro illustrationsHow a guy acts during a pregnancy scare tells you everything you need to know

The genitals are incredibly sensitive areas which each hold very sensitive spots – spots that don’t feel so good when touched and spots that feel simply amazing.

Of course, it can take practice for people to learn this, but when you do master the art of oral sex you’ll never look back.

Imagine this, but on a pizza. (Picture: Getty)

When you get home after a long night shuffling around on sticky floors, there are few things better than picking up a piping hot pizza, changing into your pyjamas, and going to town on some melted cheese.

6 truths you need to know before you get a nose piercing

    Fish-free dining (Picture: Instagram)

The Great British dish: fish and chips.

Something that us vegans have to go without.

London’s first weekly vegan market opens this month

That was until tofish – that’s fish made from tofu, obviously – became a thing.

This dish shows that tofu doesn’t need to be bland and tasteless and that you don’t need to miss out on your favourite flavours when you go vegan.

Other fish replacements include aubergine and sea kelp.

Even if you haven’t missed fish then just getting chips from the chippy can be a nightmare.

Many will cook the fish and any other animal products in the same oil… Read the full story
