As someone who has a pretty large tattoo collection (24 and counting), I get asked ‘So what do they all mean?’ a lot.

Teacher creates care packs for students who start periods unexpectedly at school

And the answer? Nothing. None of them mean anything.

But when I say that, people look at me as though I’m crazy, as though they can’t comprehend how I’ve inked my body without a deep meaning behind it.

The bottom line is, if you’re more concerned about how you’re going to explain the ink… Read the full story

There’s nowhere quite like M&S Simply Food.

It’s the kind of place busy mums buy ready meals when they’ve left their kids in an afterschool club just a few hours too long.

The kind of food hall that’s packed with delicious convenience dinners which could pass as home-cooked grub.

We’ve all got marks and features that make us unique.

Some are hidden in places that only get seen mid-coitus. Others are out there for everyone to see.

And whether it’s hyperpigmentation, a prominent mole, or a birthmark, it can be tempting to reach for the foundation or concealer in a bid to look as uniform as possible.

From the age we learn to walk and talk, we are told about the importance of looking after our bodies – why not our minds?

Whether it is parents telling us to eat our greens or adverts that stress the importance of a fit and healthy lifestyle, we are bombarded with information from a young age about keeping our bodies as healthy as possible.

The best street food in New York is from this Nigerian vendor

Yet we are very rarely encouraged, in the same way, to take regular care of our minds.

Only in recent years has society become better at encouraging people to seek help if they are struggling with mental health issues – let alone advocating that we incorporate care for our minds into our daily lives as we would with our bodies.

As a result, many people only think to look after their mental health when they feel at crisis point,… Read the full story
