I was emotionally cheating on my partner and I didn’t even realise it

I emotionally cheated on my boyfriend. Sort of.

Slutty women don't end up single and alone, actually

It’s not something that’s easy to admit, and it’s something that I’m ashamed of. But it’s something that I did. I need to confront that.

I started talking to another guy online when I was in a bad place in my relationship.

The conversation started harmlessly, after meeting on a support group for a chronic illness we both live with. We shared the same interests and even did the same job. We instantly connected over the things we had in common.

It was lovely to… Read the full story

It’s a cheeseburger in a pie. And it’s vegan! (Picture: Young Vegans)

Vegans are known for pushing inventive food to dizzying heights (remember the Brookie and the Bae-Cone?) but this latest creation by London pie champions Young Vegans exists on a whole different level of WTF.

5 problems all vegan parents will understand

Comfort food aficionados can now say hello to the vegan cheeseburger pie.

Yes, that’s correct. A vegan cheeseburger INSIDE a pie.

If you love the flavours of a regular cheeseburger, we don’t think you will be disappointed due to the double patties, melty vegan cheese, chilli tomato chutney and pickles… Read the full story

Plantain pineapple rum is made using both the skins and the flesh of the Queen Victoria pineapple and uses the traditional Cognac pot-distillation method

You might think you know all there is to know about rum.

But if you haven’t tried this pineapple rum, I’m confident you have a whole lot more to discover.

Even if you don’t like rum – maybe one too many Bacardi con limons as a teen – this will undo all of that.

Cadbury has released a new selection box just in time for Christmas, for those who are bored of the orange-wrapped Fudge bars and miniature Curly Wurlys.

The beloved chocolate brand is selling a box of all its Dairy Milk classics – including bars of Dairy Milk, Dairy Milk Whole Nut, Dairy Milk Caramel, and the popular Fruit & Nut bar.

Sure, it’s probably not for those with a taste for more complex chocolate (Dairy Milk Medleys, we’re looking at you) – but it’s perfect for anyone with a love for the simpler life.

November is full of excitement.

All Saints Day. Bonfire Night. My birthday (9th, if you’re asking).

And towards the end of the month, it’s the Victoria’s Secret show – the grandest display of long legs and swishy manes in the world.

It’s the one fashion show of the year that your boyfriend probably knows more about than you do.

And this year, it’s set to be more fire than ever.

Because Balmain – AKA the sexiest luxury label out there – has just announced that it’s collaborating with the lingerie brand on the official looks for the show…and they’re bringing out a capsule collection which will launch in stores and online… Read the full story

When is the best time to say I love you? Why oversharing too soon is a bad idea

Declaring your love too soon can be a mistake (Picture: Monika Muffin for Metro.co.uk)

‘I love you’.

These three little words are romantic grenades – they have the power to change the course of your relationship, for better or worse.

Grandma accidentally buys young granddaughter animal book filled with swear words

With great power comes great responsibility. I think it was Voltaire who said that – or Spider-Man, one or the other, anyhow – and deciding when to say I love you is as important as how, where or why.

Say it too early and you’re that person, the one people cross the room at parties… Read the full story

So you’re after something small and furry, but your lifestyle doesn’t quite allow for a pet of your own.

Maybe you’re always out of the house. Perhaps you live in a flatshare that doesn’t allow cats. Maybe you have a condition that would make it hard to look after another living thing.

Enter the Qoobo. It’s a little furry pillow with a robotic tail.

Yes, it sounds a bit weird, and yes, some people may feel a bit concerned when they walk in on you stroking a pillow to make its tail wag.

But it could be a brilliant way to de-stress without adding any of the responsibility a pet requires.

Plus, it doesn’t need… Read the full story

We all know that Mumsnet is the place to go if you want to know what issues are on people’s lips.

It’s like an online coffee morning where you can drop in and you’re always guarenteed to come away having heard something scandalous. But this? This really takes the cake.

A concerned friend has taken to Mumsnet to discuss his friend, who is apparently thinking about dumping his fiancee because she has ‘fat genes’.

(We don’t include the user name of the poster because there’s a strong feeling on Mumsnet that it can be outing, and that it could result in someone finding your account where you’ve posted… Read the full story

FYI this is not actual ballet. (Picture: Rebecca Reid)

It’s World Ballet Day! So please enjoy an account of how despite being dyspraxic and mal-coordinated, I took up ballet, and why you should think about doing the same.

I tried ballet for the first time on a complete whim.

Perhaps it was the fact that I’d read Ballet Shoes fifty times as a child, or from a life-long love of the stage. But whatever the reason, one rainy October afternoon I decided that I was going to start taking dance.

I started dancing (and still dance at) the Central School of Ballet in Farringdon. It’s a real ballet school. When you walk in it… Read the full story

‘My cousin will be so shocked when I tell him I’m dating a black girl!’ my ex said shortly after we started dating.

There I was, wondering whether I’d accidentally taken up with a polyamorous hippy when I realised to my surprise, that he was actually talking about me.

Me – the most beige of people. The person with skin the colour of korma. As close to a Simpson as you could get.

I mean…I am a bit black but that’s not immediately obvious. It was a confusing moment.

The days are getting colder and we’re already re-stocking our wardrobes with knitted jumpers and woolly scarves.

But one piece of clothing that won’t be making an appearance in our winter warmer section is ASOS’s new cropped jumper.

When we think of a cropped jumper, we generally think of a sweatshirt cut to the middle of the torso, so that it can be perfectly paired with some high-waisted jeans.

Sure, it’s not desirable winterwear but it’s still enough to keep you from shivering.

One six-year-old was overjoyed when her grandmother bought her an animal-themed picture book.

That was until she discovered some words she couldn’t quite understand.

Confused, she asked her parents to have a go at reading the book, titled ‘If Animals Could Talk’ – and her mother, Tiffany, was gobsmacked at what she saw.

Tiffany’s mother had not gifted her daughter a regular picture book – she’d gifted her one filled with swear words on nearly every page.

It was an absolutely hilarious disaster.

Shocked, Tiffany shared photos of the book to her Twitter, along with the caption: ‘I’m dying. My mom bought this book for my 6 year old and I just called to ask… Read the full story

We are massive fans of Aldi right now.

They’ve recently brought out five luxury Christmas hampers, and then topped that off with a delicious-looking Yorkshire pudding burrito. It’s safe to say we know where we’re going to be heading when the festive season hits.

But, with it still being October, the store has released an incredibly autumn-themed treat that we know any basic Instagram-fanatic will enjoy.

Pumpkin Spice Liqueur.

The creamy drink, which sounds a lot like Pumpkin Spice Baileys, is infused with pumpkin spice flavours of cinnamon and nutmeg and is meant to be poured on its own over ice – or added to coffee for that morning kick.

Behold the McVegan: McDonald’s is finally trialling a vegan burger

Long have vegans had to put up with the same refrain.

‘You’re vegan? No McDonald’s for you, then.’

It’s almost as irritating as ‘but, bacon’ and ‘where do you get your protein?’.

Vegans forced to go to McDonald’s with their hammered friends have been able to enjoy french fries, hash browns, and garden side salads, but it’s always been a fairly dismal experience.

Nibbling on a small portion of fries while everyone around you tucks into a large meal isn’t anyone’s idea of fun.

But rejoice, vegans, because one day soon, you may not have to put up with this tragedy.

Finally – finally – McDonald’s is hopping aboard the vegan train.

That’s right. McDonald’s is officially trying out a… Read the full story

What happened when I came out about my mental illness on Facebook

I’ve always been an intensely private person.

Growing up, showing emotions was a sign of weakness, so I learned to keep them under wraps.

I was first diagnosed with depression at the age of 15, but I hid my mental health struggles from everyone – even (OK, especially) my parents.

As I got older, I went out of my way to avoid showing my vulnerabilities.

I ‘toughed it out’ on my own through degree stress, a first job that… Read the full story
