This is Michelle Liu.

She’s busy travelling around the world, taking in all the major attractions and beautiful landscapes.

And she’s documenting her journeys with a series of spectacular chinfies.

Yep, forget selfies, it’s all about the chin pics.

She just stands in front of whatever the scene is, throws her head back and gets the perfect short of her chins.

She calls it ‘chinning’ – the perfect antithesis to the carefully angled selfies we’re used to seeing all over social media.

She’s chinned all around the world

These candid nude portraits of men are fighting body shaming in the LGBT community

Hook-up culture generally is pretty shallow.

Apps are designed to be a kind of internet-shopping-dating-experience, where you go by looks rather than personality.

You’ve only got a few seconds to lure someone in before they swipe left. Looks are what make people give you a chance to explain yourself.

And all dating apps have an element of ‘looks first’ about them, it’s an attitude especially endemic in the LGBTQ community.

Apps like Grindr and Scruff are often unforgiving and prone to body-shaming.

Men list what they don’t want in their bios – ‘no fats, no hairy, no old’ are not uncommon.

Which is why one Lisbon-based photographer has been photographing nude dudes to challenge the community’s hyper-selective… Read the full story

I’m probably not going to climb out to a rocky shore on my wedding day, tbh (Picture: Getty)

Weddings are stressful enough without adding an extra criteria that we have to live up to.

Is it not enough that we have to merge two families who may or may not like each other, stress over spending the best part of a year’s salary on what is essentially a party, and keep the best man in line?

All the biggest wedding dress trends for 2018

Apparently that wasn’t enough, because now weddings have to look good on Instagram too.

Gone are the days when weddings were a… Read the full story

If you’ve ever sat sulking because your partner won’t turn up the goddamn thermostat, then you’re not alone.

The battle for control of the central heating can be infuriating when one person wants to walk around in a t-shirt and the other insists on freezing to death until December.

A third of UK couples, in fact, fall out of heating – according to a new study by Corgi Homeplan, mainly because guys won’t accept that women feel the cold keener than they do.

It’s nothing particularly new; there have been countless studies to suggest that women are more comfortable in warmer temperatures than men.

A 2015 study by Dutch scientists found that… Read the full story

It starts often with a little rumble, followed by a slow churning feeling.

20 minutes later, your stomach is so distended that you look six months pregnant and you’re unable to walk properly.

Bloating can be a chronic and it can ruin your day/night/week.

And it’s something that affects so many women.

Remember fitness blogger Tiffany Brien who shared a ‘bad day’ photo in a bid to educate others about how severe bloating can get?

She’s a fitness blogger who posts videos of her glute-busting workouts on Instagram alongside progress shots.

And she’s no stranger to calling out bullsh*t #Instafit trends.

She’s done the ‘posed v relaxed’ posts. She’s done the bloating posts.

And recently, she’s posted a side-by-side comparison post, calling out other bloggers who ‘over-exaggerate’ their poses to make a point.

‘One picture I have forced my hips forward to give myself hip dips and the illusion of being bigger then what I am and the other is me pushing my hips back to give myself some shape! (Neither is) bad but (neither is) me!

Why bother trekking to your local curry house, when you can attempt to make one at home instead?

It can feel a bit silly to admit that leaving work behind, going somewhere incredible, and doing nothing but relaxing and exploring can leave you feeling a little wrecked.

You’re on holiday. You’re supposed to be happy. And yet…

Mental health issues can pop up whenever and wherever. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a beach or stuck in a cubicle at work, your brain can go a bit haywire.

So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that mental health issues can come up while you’re on holiday – or that being away from home can actually make them worse.

The disruption in routine, the jetlag, the booze, the pressure to have fun – it can all add up to a worrying mental state.

Add in the guilt you feel for still having issues when you’re doing something amazing, and holidays can end up being more stress than they’re worth.

The trick is being honest with yourself, realising that a change in location rarely magically fixes mental… Read the full story

If you don’t do an Instagram story of a meal out, have you even eaten out?

Many of us won’t be able to remember the last dining experience we had without our mobiles in tow.

But Big Mac eaters in Singapore are being encouraged to put down their gadgets and actually have a conversation over their lunches.

McDonald’s has introduced mobile phone lockers in a bid to get people to start socialising over food again.

Its Marine Cove branch in the country is targeting families, encouraging both kids and parents to lock up their phones for the duration of the meal.

Is it working?

Of course not, because people are Instagramming the lockers.

The best exercises for your body, according to a Harvard doctor

Many of us think that pounding the pavement is the best and only way to get into shape.

Running has many things going for it (mental space, endorphins, general cardiovascular fitness), but it can grind your knees into dust and mess with your gut health. And loads of people don’t actually like running.

According to a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, instead of putting yourself through the agony of long-distance running, there are five other types of workouts that are actually better for the body.

Writing in a Harvard Medical School health report called ‘Starting to Exercise’, professor I-Min Lee cites the following exercises as being better… Read the full story

At times, it can feel like you’re the only gym-goer in the world who is still carrying a little extra padding.

Go online and everyone is ridiculously honed, flaunting their abs in candid brunch selfies and gym workout boomerangs.

At the gym, it can be daunting to workout in a crop top when everyone else looks so much fitter and leaner than you do.

But, my friend, all is not what it seems.

Because a good pair of leggings can do wonders for making you look slimmer – and fitness blogger Zoe Novota is proof.

She’s posted a ’30-second transformation’ to prove that lusting over someone else’s flat stomach is a largely pointless endeavour.

Zara is a purveyor of fine clothing and shoes.

Only yesterday we brought you news that the amazing studded leather boots that are currently all over Instagram are, in fact, Zara creations.

They know how to do good shoes.

And yet…they’re selling these absolutely horrendous ‘sock-style high heel court shoes’.

FOR £60. Have they lost their goddamn minds?

Just in case you can’t be arsed to find a pair of socks to wear with your stilettos (which, as we know, is an excellent style decision in itself), Zara has glued a pair of grey school uniform-like ribbed socks inside a pair of buckled ankle strapped high heels.

People are tweeting ‘me too’ to show how wide spread sexual assault is

Despite the Harvey Weinstein scandal being absolutely horrendous, there is some good coming out of it.

Amid the steady stream of rape, sexual assault and inappropriate behaviour allegations against the film titan, female actors have been empowered to speak out.

Where once they’d have been silenced, bribed or sacked, women are being applauded for their bravery and resilience.

As a result, they’ve inspired people working in the fashion industry as models or photographic assistants to finally share their stories of sexual misconduct too.

And now, finally, Twitter has decided to make a space for people to show how endemic the problem is throughout society.

Last night, actress Alyssa Milano put a call to arms… Read the full story
