Sonny Turner is a self-love hero.

Earlier this year she shared the struggles of shopping for a bikini as a plus-size woman, and took the time to tell everyone that no, they don’t need to lose weight to have a ‘bikini body’.

Now, she’s taken to Instagram to spread an important message: People of any size are entirely allowed to feel sexy. Sexy isn’t a dress size.

‘Now this may be hard for some of you to understand but guess what,’ Sonny wrote on Instagram, along with a picture of herself in pants… Read the full story

We all love this time of year: nights in, presents galore and, of course, the food. But if you’ve got coeliac disease or are intolerant to gluten, you’ll know things become harder.

Rather than thinking about what to eat, it seems like we’re always reminded of everything we can’t eat.

And gluten is a tricky beast: lurking in everything from the gravy to our beloved mince pies.

Luckily, there are tonnes of options out there. Here’s our guide for a complete gluten-free Christmas. Whether it’s a full roast or stocking filler… Read the full story

Now doesn’t that look tastier than a turkey? (Picture: Getty)

Go quackers not crackers this Christmas – those in the culinary know are ditching the traditional roast turkey for a delicious crispy duck!

That’s right, sentimentality has flown its nest and the duck is home to roost – but with such a flavoursome taste we couldn’t give a duck!

Why?

I ate the four Christmas dinners from the Vicar Of Dibley TV special back-to-back

Not only is duck a great Christmas dinner it also makes for a satisfying Boxing Day brunch, too.

Unlike turkey giblets, the offal from a duck is a delicacy by itself. Gently sauté the… Read the full story

Taking a pregnancy test is always a nerve wracking experience.

Taking a pregnancy test in public, however, is a bit like being electrocuted with a zillion vaults.

Not only are you often extremely on edge (hence why you don’t wait until you’re back home), but you’ve got to piss on a stick in some gross public convenience before trying to hide the evidence in the sanitary disposal unit (which is not what it was designed for) so that your colleagues don’t clock what you’ve been up to.

And often, that stick refuses to hide.

Well not anymore.

Because Lia is the world’s first flushable pregnancy kit – and… Read the full story

When it comes to proposals, most people just get down on one knee and pop the question.

Sure, there’s many ways you can ask the love of your life to be your husband or wife, but there’s nothing wrong with going down the traditional route.

But if you’re wanting to stray away from traditional as much as possible, you can now do so, thanks to a modernised ring box that will capture your better half saying yes (or no, if it’s just not meant to be) as you pop the big question.

The ring box looks like your everyday phone case except it conceals a ring, and opens up much like… Read the full story

This is 20-year-old Daniel Throop.

He’s always loved babies but is often refused permission to hold them because he’s Downs’s Syndrome.

So imagine how delighted he was when his brother handed him his newborn baby to hold.

His genetic condition has no effect on how capable he is of comforting tiny children, and older brother Kevin uploaded these photos of him cuddling the baby to Reddit to try and show jus tthat.

He explains that it’s rare that people let Daniel hold their children anymore and that he wanted to change that after having his own child, Maysen, who is just three-months-old.

‘My wife and I let him hold out baby today and here… Read the full story

We love a good old ugly Chrimbo jumper.

Nothing quite says ‘I’m in the festive spirit’ like making yourself look a complete tit, dressed in snowmen and present motifs.

Which is why Nike have decided to bring out an ‘Ugly Christmas Sweater’ sneaker.

Yep, you can now bedeck your trotters in true holiday fashion, with a pair of Nike DB Dunk Highs, which have been designed in collaboration with trainer retailer Concepts.

Nike first produced a Christmas edition back in 2013, and this latest reincarnation mirrors that original pair, including snowmen, gingerbread cookies, tree ornaments, gifts and everything else you associate with the holiday season.

When is Christmas, why do we celebrate it and when was Jesus actually born?

Putting up the Christmas tree (Picture: Getty)

Turns out people aren’t entirely sure when Jesus was born or even the date Christmas falls.

Nor do some realise that Christmas is a Christian festival.

Missing your past pets this Christmas? You are not alone

That’s according to one poll carried out by Onepoll.com and The History Channel of 2,000 British adults.

That’s a surprising one in five people who aren’t 100% clear on the true meaning of Christmas.

And among those, one in 20 believed that Jesus was instead born at Easter and one in 10 couldn’t name Bethlehem as his place of birth.

Remember when you sat your GCSE Spanish oral?

Remember how after five years, you still only knew ‘me gustaria visitar el biblioteca’ and ‘en la fin de semana, voy al cine’ and still passed with flying colours?

The sad fact is, no one really knows any languages at school. And even sadder is the fact that apparently, it only takes up to 24 weeks to learn the fundamentals of French, Spanish and Italian.

The Foreign Service Institute has released a map ranking language difficulty, based on how long it takes an English speaker to reach ‘Speaking and Reading Proficiency’.

It takes 575-600 hours to become proficient in languages like Afrikaans,… Read the full story

It might still be illegal here but our American cousins are busy sticking cannabis into everything.

We’ve had canna bouquets. Canna beer. Canna churches. Canna candy floss.

And now, cos Christmas, they’re making cannabis wreaths.

A California weed far, Henry’s Original, is making weed wreaths to ensure that your Christmas is as chilled as possible.

They’ve partnered up with LA-based florist Amy Nicole to create a limited-edition arrangement that contains one ounce of ‘sun-grown, artisanal cannabis’.

‘Our limited-edition, custom wreaths are handcrafted with various types of eucalyptus, evergreen, dried wheat and grasses, moss, berries, and pine cones,’ they say on… Read the full story

Bali has been a popular tourist destination for decades.

It’s a haven for people wanting to hang out and relax with a Bintang (or several), and enjoy the tropical climate.

However, in recent years it’s continued to grow in popularity, and tourists seeking a more peaceful experience are looking elsewhere.

Enter Lombok: the lesser-known but equally beautiful Indonesian island, right next door.

Here’s what you should do there if you make the trip.

Why the African islands of Cape Verde are the ideal winter holiday destination

The winter coats are out, we haven’t seen a blue sky in weeks and the heating bill is about to be astronomical.

Enter Cape Verde.

A six hour flight and an hour’s time difference, the Cape Verde island of Sal will offer you warm weather all year round and the chance to forget about those work emails piling up.

It’s so small you can see nearly everything the island has to offer in less than two days, saving you from the ultimate dilemma of wanting to switch off from life but feeling guilty for spending hard earned cash to fly somewhere hot and sunny and not at least attempt to see some sights.

Time to book your flights.

Until last year, female wrestling was banned in the United Arab Emirates.

Hardly surprising, considering the host of restrictions placed on Emirati women in the area.

But on Thursday, two women made history by performing in a WWE Raw Women’s Championship event in Abu Dhabi.

Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks had to change their outfits to accommodate the kingdom’s strict modesty rules but that didn’t stop them from getting psyched to make history.

‘What an amazing and historic night! Thank you so much Abu Dhabi , was such an honour,’ Alexa said on Instagram.

I know we should be talking all things Christmas but you know, it can all get a bit much.

Christmas grub is ok but there’s one food item that tops cranberry stuffing and nut roasts any day of the week: pizza.

While you can actually get a Christmas pizza this year, the real dough buzz is happening on National Pizza Day in February, when 400 restaurants will be offering 30% off their pizzas.

Foodism’s pizza festival is happening on 9 February and all your favourite pizza dealers will be coming together to bring you one-off specials and unique collaborations.

Those participating include 400 Rabbits, Homeslice, Voodoo Rays and Pizza… Read the full story

The term ‘nude’ can be a bit of a misnomer for most people.

Back when Kate Middleton was media fashion darling, people wouldn’t shut up about the leg-lengthening properties of some nude court heels.

The colour of those L.K. Bennett pumps, though, were only a match for a small part of the population. For anyone wearing a shade of foundation that isn’t Ecru, they might as well have been white stilettos.

In recent times, Christian Louboutin have extended their range of nude shoes, and we have Rihanna to thank for starting the trend of… Read the full story

Snow in Surrey (Picture: Getty)

Snow is a miracle of nature: compacted ice crystals that somehow bring out the child in all of us.

It’s also a pain in the neck, at least if you live in the South, where we’re simply not used to it. There may be snowmen in every front garden, but have you tried getting a train, like, anywhere?

If you live in our neck of the woods, there are certain expected behaviours, so please make sure you’ve checked off at least some of the following.
