Why is weed only cool when it’s used by white people?

Ah, weed.

The humble herb that sends governments into overdrive and students into paroxysms of munchie-driven laughter.

Internet culture seems to have made cannabis culture way more acceptable than it used to be. Even though it’s not legal in many places (surely it’s only a matter of time until the UK makes the transition), we read about cool canna products all the time.

People are interested in weed-infused beer, wine and edibles because they like getting moderately high, and they want to have a choice over what substances they consume and how they do it. They also use these kinds of things to manage anxiety, depression and to treat chronic pain.

Cannabis has become trendy again – and white.

And perhaps that’s most obvious in the recent boom in weed-centric yoga classes.

Now, THC (the psycho-active element) and CBD (the relaxing and non-high making one) probably are the perfect accessories for a blissed out yoga session. Cannabinoids can one help to relax and for many, are an… Read the full story

It’s official: Kylie Jenner won the Superbowl.

While most people plugged into US celebrity culture planned for weeks’ worth of coverage of Justin Timberlake’s mediocre performance (I mean, nothing could top his Nipplegate moment with Janet Jackson in 2004), they were blessed with quite a distraction on Sunday.

Valentine’s has become so commercial now that it’s impossible to avoid buying expensive flowers and chocolates, and going on dates where the prices have been hiked up to oblivion.

Capitalism has made V-day less about sweet, sweet loving, and more about who had the biggest bunch of roses delivered to their office.

That said, there’s no harm in spreading the love regardless of your budget.

Gregg’s showed us that with their £15 Valentine’s menu, and all the major supermarkets have got their deals for dine-in menus. You can also go out to ‘Spoons and enjoy a two-course meal for only £20.

It can sometimes go unnoticed but every day many of us are contributing to plastic waste, with around 91% of all plastic not being recycled globally.

Plastic bottles are used daily to drink water and they are also used for every day household goods, such as bleach, shampoo, bathroom cleaners and hand soap dispenser bottles.

Why is weed only cool when it's used by white people?

In the UK, the average household uses 480 plastic bottles per year, but only recycles 270 of… Read the full story

Old fashioned Doritos are for men. And women (Picture: Getty)

Don’t expect to see ‘lady Doritos’ on store shelves. The company behind the cheesy chips said yesterday that it’s not developing a line of Doritos designed specifically for women, despite widespread online speculation that it was.

The phrase ‘lady Doritos’ trended on social media after PepsiCo’s longtime CEO Indra Nooyi said on a podcast that unlike men, women don’t like to lick their fingers after eating a bag of Doritos.

Doritos is launching special crisps for ladies that don’t crunch as loudly

Ever wish your Big Mac were a little bigger… or smaller?

Well you’re in luck, burger pals, as those smaller and bigger versions of the Big Mac we mentioned a while back are now coming to the UK.

The bad news is that they’ll be a limited edition menu addition, so you won’t be able to choose the size of your Big Mac experience forevermore.

The new burger sizes are only coming to the UK for a short amount of time to celebrate 50 years of the original Big Mac (happy birthday, big guy), with three snazzy Big Mac options for you to feast… Read the full story

The hardest part of any new friendship is figuring out how far their humour will go.

You don’t want to crack a joke that the other person will deem totally inappropriate and make them never want to speak to you again.

It’s even harder when you’re on a date. What if you find dank memes hilarious but your date thinks they’re despicable?

If you’ve ever played Cards Against Humanity though, you know all judgement goes out the window once you get the first pair of cards about parental sex, or masturbation, or a balls-deep mishap of some sort.

Just play the game if you haven’t already.

46-year-old Shawna Lyon has amassed around 500 American Girl Dolls and Cabbage Patch Kids since becoming a doll collector almost 40 years ago.

Shawna, who works in special education and lives in Roseville, Califronia, estimates spending around £10,000 on all of her dolls.

She said: ‘I don’t like to think about how much I’ve spent overall. It takes away the enjoyment if I focus on the cost.

‘It’s hard to say for sure, as some dolls are far more expensive and… Read the full story

Going for dinner on a first date can be so awkward.

You run out of questions, you laugh nervously, you look around hoping for inspiration for an interesting topic to strike.

It’s even more awkward when you suddenly realise you’ve only been staring at their left eye all this time. Quick, change to the right, wait, where do people normally look when they speak to someone?

Or maybe you haven’t made enough eye contact? Maybe you’ve made too much?

The point is, it’s not long before you’ve asked all the mandatory questions to ascertain they’re not a murderer or a creep.

Uncomfortable silences can slowly creep in. Which is why it’s… Read the full story

Well you should, because sushi is delicious and sophisticated.

Being body positive isn’t always easy.

But it’s a damn site easier when you’ve got a badass mum who revels in it, like Ashley Graham’s.

The model is known for her body positive attitude and in her latest inclusive swimwear campaign, she’s brought her mum Linda along for the ride.

All mental illnesses are associated with insomnia or sleeping problems of some sort. Eating disorders are no exception.

Having suffered from anorexia most of my adult life, I’ve had many restless nights.

There are many things contributing to sleep disturbance in anorexia.

When malnutrition is at its worst, some people believe your brain deliberately keeps you awake.

If you have anorexia, your breathing and heart rate are slow.

Meanwhile, going to sleep slows your heart rate and breathing rate even further, so dying in your sleep… Read the full story

The pain of acne is more than skin deep.

There’s an intense shame around having blemishes that can’t be covered with a quick swipe of foundation. It can wreck your self-esteem, make you avoid social situations, and end up making you feel incredibly isolated – especially when you’re in your teens.

Sufferers of acne have long known how skin problems can affect your mental health, but now, there’s some scientific evidence to back up the relationship between acne and mental illness.

A new study reports that people with acne are at a substantially higher risk of depression in the first few years after their skin is affected.

It’s important to feel completely free, entirely yourself, on your wedding day. It’s all about you and the person you love.

The same goes for your engagement. It should be tailored to you, so it feels special, personal.

So naturally, a couple bonded by their love for nudism would get engaged completely naked, while on stage in front of 400 strangers. Why not?

Nigel Seymour, 57, popped the question to Rachel Allen, 28, while both we naked and on stage at a British Naturism weekend in Staffordshire.

The couple had only been dating for six months, having met at a retreat and bonded while playing naked table tennis.

Well perhaps, if you’re a Brummie or Liverpudlian, you should be.
