Today is quite possibly the most romantic day of the year, but just how much of an expert are you on all things Valentines?

Every February it slowly creeps up, the one day of the year where everything is pretty much covered in hearts, shades of red and pink and you begrudgingly give in and spend a ridiculous amount of money on mediocre chocolate, just because it’s packed in a heart shaped box.

Getting older doesn’t mean your sex life has to slow down… although we’d recommend taking things slowly and carefully when it comes to trying more acrobatic positions.

Just because you’re over the age of the people shown banging on TV doesn’t mean you suddenly turn off your sexual desire and live a solitary, pleasure-less existence.

Oh look, these penguins are celebrating Valentine’s Day better than we ever have.

Rather than exchanging cheap chocolate or pretending that the poem our boyfriend wrote is actually really good, really, penguins living at San Francisco’s California Academy of Sciences mark the occasion by collecting red felt hearts the biologists have made just for them.

Those felt hearts are then used as nesting material, either left as they are or torn to pieces. The penguins then snooze on said nesting material, in the ultimate rebellion against the commercialism of V Day.

A mum who was diagnosed with terminal cancer has written a book to help her children understand her sudden diagnosis.

Sarah West, 34, from Loughborough, Leicestershire, was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2017, and was devastated when she was told by doctors two weeks later that it was terminal.

Sarah wanted to explain her illness to her two daughters, Amelia, 3, and Olivia, 6, using a book, but couldn’t find anything appropriate. So she decided to create her own book for them.

Attention, ice cream lovers: Ben & Jerry’s has just launched a new flavour, and it sounds amazing.

Ben & Jerry’s has just started selling a new birthday cake flavour. It’s made up of vanilla cake batter ice cream, pink frosting, strawberry swirls and cake pieces.

The new ice cream comes in celebration of Ben & Jerry’s 40th birthday, which will be celebrated later this year.

Ben & Jerry’s flavour gurus couldn’t think of a batter way (sorry) to celebrate than by combining two of their (and everyone’s?) favourite things: ice cream and cake, in an all-in-one tub.
