In the wake of the KFC crisis, head to PFC for your fried chicken fix

Not everyone is bothered by KFC’s demise.

Because not everyone is a big fan of Kentucky Fried Chicken (shock horror).

Even if KFC never recovers and sends us into some sort of a chickenless dystopia, it was never the be-all and end-all of greasy food delicacies anyway.

That’s because the savvier among us know about PFC, that’s Perfect Fried Chicken, which is cheaper, easily available, and tastes a lot better.

That’s right, I said it.

If anyone is suffering withdrawal symptoms due to KFC’s shortage of chicken; which has lead to some… Read the full story

Alcoholism can sneak up on you (Picture: Getty)

Being admitted to detox was never a goal of mine. I didn’t actually aspire to become an alcoholic.

They were the guys on the benches or slumped in doorways clutching their cheap bottles of cider and cans of extra strength lager. Not me. It wasn’t supposed to be me.

It turns out that what I thought was irrelevant. Because I became one anyway.

We need to talk about alcoholism and depression

A horrific year saw me lose everything: My marriage, my pets, my job, and my home.

I couldn’t deal with… Read the full story

How do I love tequila? Let me count the ways.

It’s such an underrated spirit in the UK, so it’s a shame it’s usually reminiscent of your last memories of a night out, where you ordered shots for everyone and then blacked out and woke up with a pounding head in your (hopefully, anyway) bed the next morning.

However, it’s the basis of one of my favourite cocktails – the humble margarita – so when Jose Cuervo asked if I wanted to join them and the UK’s first ever salt sommelier, Max Venning, on… Read the full story

The latest photo challenge asks Instagram users to post one thing from their day, each day, every day, for an entire year.

Consecutive posting on social media might not be everyone’s cup of tea but for some they’re a daily ritual that gives them some happiness.

Challenges usually very in length and style, from #100daysofhappy to the Hobby Lobby challenge, or word challenges whereby you upload a pic related to the category.

As a viewer, they’re pretty interesting stuff, even a little voyeuristic; we get to learn about guilty pleasures, patterns, and unknown details about our Instagram friends’ lives.

But are there any dangers of… Read the full story

Does the number of sexual partners that a person has had change the way that you see them?

If you answered ‘no’ to that question, were you really being honest with yourself?

Despite living in an age where sex isn’t just for married people, where as long as you’re careful about consent and contraception, you should be able to enjoy sex as much as you want to, research from Superdrug Online Doctor, suggests that that message just doesn’t seem to have permeated quite yet.

Superdrug’s researchers showed just over 1,000 people from Europe and the US pictures of models, alongside information about how many people… Read the full story

It’s a moment of sheer panic when you realise the thing you’re most insecure about on your body is about to be captured on camera.

We employ various techniques to cover up our insecurities.

From makeup hacks (thank you contouring) to getting bangs to cover a fivehead, or wearing a hair parting on a particular side or a long fringe to cover things we don’t people to see.

But there’s a less fiddly step to take which is also the hardest to do: Self-love.

Thankfully, the body positivity movement is taking off as we rally against society’s impossible beauty standards.

We might not get a choice in the features we’re born… Read the full story

Plenty of articles and books give us an insight into what being a model is ‘really’ like.

But not everyone talks about the crippling anxiety, eating disorders and mental health issues that may come with trying to meet the beauty standards in the industry.

In a powerful open letter, Charli Howard declared that she was tired of body shaming and unhealthy definitions of what a model should be.

The model, 26, was famously told she was too big to get work at her former agency. She was a size six.

Deciding that enough is enough, Charli has written a book to promote body positivity and self-love, something which took years for her to… Read the full story

If you watched the Brit awards last night, you’ll have noticed Cheryl (Cole? Fernandez-Versini? Unclear) upstaging comedian Jack Whitehall with her quip about safe words.

‘She knows the safe word,’ said boyfriend Liam Payne. ‘What’s the safe word?’ asked Jack. ‘Don’t stop,’ replied Cheryl, deadpan.

God we love Cheryl.

Anyway, having watched this exchange you might be thinking that Cheryl is sassy AF, or you might be wondering what a safe word actually is. In the post-50 shades world, it’s a pretty common expression. Why?

Safe words started with the BDSM community. It’s a… Read the full story

Millennials have taken their love for avocado to the next level by actually using half of the creamy fruit as an engagement ring holder.

Yep, now that people have decided use the new, er, slightly more modern way to propose, they have to spend time looking for the perfect avocado as well as the ring.

To help move the process along, Asda’s store in Clapham has introduced as ‘Perfect for Proposal’ sticker system, labelling the avocados that are ripe to guide loved-up Brits down the (produce) aisle.

Ever worked behind a bar?

If you have, you’ll know the pure rage that comes when someone gives you a super long order of wine and vodka tonics, and then finishes with ‘and six pints of lager’.

Rather than being able to half pour the pints, get the rest of the drinks, and then top them up, you’re left standing there like a knob, waiting for the pint glass to fill.

Little known fact, the lowest ever recorded speed for anything ever took place when someone tried to pour six pints during a Friday night shift in an… Read the full story

Every few months or so, someone will get a load of retweets or Facebook shares by revealing the ~secret evils~ of a thing people enjoy.

Usually this is in the vein of ‘the thing you enjoy eating is really bad for you’, or ‘the thing you enjoy doing means you’re actually a massive idiot’.

Some recent examples include that viral image of the breakdown of ingredients of a jar of Nutella, and every thinkpiece about how Black Panther isn’t actually the cure to racism (literally no one thought it was, pals. It’s just… Read the full story

Gender roles and terminology can be loaded for people in general but more so for the LGBTQ+ community.

A photographer has taken a series of powerful images to deconstruct the binary.

Thomas Evans, from Manhattan, New York, has been photographing masculine men in the nude for the Femme The Man campaign.

The 34-year-old took inspiration from the women’s march after Donald Trump’s leaked comment about grabbing women by the p*ssy.

He hopes to break down the labels and limitations of men and women with his series, that started two years ago.

You might’ve heard; our majesty the queen swapped her throne for the front row at London Fashion Week recently.

Not only was she wearing a fashionable Angela Kelly tweed dress and jacket in duck egg blue, embellished with tiny aquamarine Swarovski crystals, she was sat next to fashion royalty, Anna Wintour.

And as majestic as she might’ve looked, not all of us will be rushing to buy the tweed dress. That’s the Queen’s signature style, and not one mere mortals can pull off.

Queen Elizabeth’s handbag on the other hand, is totally vogue, and is pretty much the fashion staple anyone would love to own.

Anthrax bacteria (Picture: Getty)

The threat of anthrax has emerged once again after a letter containing a white powder was sent to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, sparking fears of an attack.

Anthrax is an acute infectious disease caused by the spore-forming bacterium Bacillus anthracis.

Anthrax most commonly occurs in wild and domestic animals like cattle, sheep, goats, camels and antelopes.

It also can occur in humans when they are exposed to infected animals or tissue from infected animals, or following a release of anthrax spores as a weapon of biological war or terrorism.

We’ve all been there.

It’s Saturday night. You’ve recently turned 18, so you don’t have to nearly wee yourself when the bouncer asks how old you are. You’ve got a banging outfit on. You step out into the night, rocking whatever super flammable mini dress you bought at Topshop that morning and you’re hit with a wall of icy air.

Do you pause, turn back, grab a Parka?

Do you f**k.

A baby was born with brown locks that naturally stand on end – and they’re so long they often need to be put in an adorable top knot.

First-time mum Keilly Wilson, 33, was shocked when her son Ronnie, now six months, was born with a full head of thick black hair.

The tot has become a mini celebrity, with strangers always crowding around him to tell his mum just how adorable he is when they’re out.

Commodity broker Keilly, of St Albans, Herts, said: ‘Ronnie came out like that, it’s mental. I couldn’t believe it when he was born.

A picture of parents Mark Lester, 62, and Sonia Lester, 46, seeing their daughter in her wedding dress has won a Masters of Wedding Photography award – because it’s really blimmin’ emotional.
