These muscles need a work-out too (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Women have been socialised into believing their genitals need to be ‘pretty’ – hairless, symmetrical and in a perfect pastel pink – but until this day I had no idea vagina maintenance should include exercise too.

You’d think using your vagina for sex and pushing out babies was already enough labour, but apparently fit and healthy lady bits require a regular workout.

In fact, the vagina are like any other muscle in the body: it needs to be trained in order to stay healthy.

Say what you like about the Kardashians, but those gals have all got their business heads on.

Rising to fame through a reality show, the Kardashi-clan have all made the most of it.

When puberty (LOL, a surgeon) blessed Kylie with pillow lips that her doe-eyed fans lusted after, she capitalised on this by launching lip kits that sold like hot cakes.

She’s been building her makeup empire – Kylie Cosmetics – ever since, to include such delights as blushers, highlighters and eye pallettes, and her latest drop has got her fans… Read the full story

When you have a baby you spend a lot of time prepping for the birth.

Will you be going the epidural route? Or an all natural hypnobirth? Are you hoping to be active, or maybe be in water?  Or will you opt for a c-section? The options are numerous. But what we hear a lot less about is what actually happens directly after your baby is born.

The lovely people at Play Like Mum have put together a guide to what will actually happen during the first hour of your baby’s life.

To give you some help, Play Like Mum have taken a quick look at the… Read the full story

Ah, the internet.

It used to just be about good clean fun, screaming at mum to get off the phone so we could spend half an hour watching Salad Fingers or chatting to our pals on MSN, but it quickly turned sour.

People started using the world wide web to catfish unsuspecting victims, and the rise of social media encouraged nasty, bitter people to channel their negative energy into trolling.

On top of that, thanks to the wide variety of social media platforms, with their private messenger systems, you’re expected to be at your phone’s beck and call every waking hour –… Read the full story

Would you? (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

Earlier this year we reported that naked exercise classes were coming to New York City.

The NYC gym launched a nude, full body workout, promising health benefits like: ‘Skin breathing, the release of endorphins due to Vitamin D from sunlight and complete body awareness so you can see if you’re cheating on your exercise routines’.

If you were one of the group of people who read the news and were sad that you couldn’t take part due to not being anywhere near New York, then you may well be in luck.

For the classes are coming to London in March.

Got to get out of here (Picture: Liberty Antonia Sadler for Metro.co.uk)

I don’t know about you but I think the only thing worse than being on a bad date is trying to end one.

I’m not much a dating girl you see; I’m more of a ‘meet someone at a party or a night out and have a bit of fun’ kind of girl, because I work a lot and am probably too independent for my own good.

Recently, I’ve felt the pang of wanting something a bit more substantial so, like most people, I’ve ended up on dating apps, which is apparently where more than 50% of couples will meet… Read the full story

If you don’t want your cat to scratch up your sofa and jump about on your work surfaces, you need to provide them with other stimuli.

The thing is, scratching posts and discarded, wrecked wine boxes scream ‘desperate cat maniac’ rather than ‘boogee bachelor pad’.

Which is why you need to find special cat furniture which your feline prince can scratch, explore, and bounce around in.

Something like Taiwan-based company A Cat Thing’s cardboard city.

A Cat Thing has come up with a variety of sleek, stylish cat furniture pieces that come in modular units – meaning you can arrange them in a number of different ways to create mazes and… Read the full story

The first time a man came on my face, I assumed he’d missed.

‘It’s fine!’ I said blithely, as I rubbed my face on his sheets. ‘Don’t worry about it! You missed my eye!’

It was only when I spoke to my friends at school on Monday morning that I realised it hadn’t been an accident, he hadn’t pulled out of my mouth because he’d had a cramp or been trying to hold back. He had, in fact, wanted to come on my face.

‘That’s called a facial’ one of my more wordly friends told me, ‘It’s actually good for your skin.’

‘But why?’ I remember asking. Despite being a D… Read the full story

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a newfound obsession with skincare.

I’ve always cared about the clarity and quality of the skin on my face, probably with more emotional investment than is strictly appropriate.

Adopting a dog is great for your relationship – here’s why

Digestive issues and chronic pain can be a side effect of depression (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

There’s definitely a stereotypical image of depression which is repeatedly portrayed in the media.

Let's talk about ejaculating on people's faces

Unless you’re standing on a cliff, sobbing uncontrollably and considering jumping off then you might think that you’ve got no reason whatsoever to suspect that you could have a mental illness.

Yes, depression comes with its fair share of invisible symptoms, but did you know that there are a whole host of physical ones to worry about as well?

Models walked the Tod’s runway with puppies at Milan Fashion Week

Designers will do all kinds of strange things to get attention. That’s how they make people genuinely consider spending thousands of pounds on a jacket.

For Gucci, that’s making models carry their own severed heads.

At Tod’s, a far sweeter method was used: Puppies.

Sadly, guests at the show did not each walk away with their own rescue dog (how wonderful would that have been?), but instead were able to sit back and watch some excellent doggos on the runway.

For the designer’s Milan Fashion Week show, Tod’s sent models down the runway carrying extremely cute puppies.

Poor Ivy Angerman can’t cry, sweat, or have a bath without breaking out in painful blisters and hives – because the toddler is allergic to water.

Ivy has rare allergy aquagenic urticaria, which she was diagnosed with in October last year.

Her parents noticed something was wrong when they saw Ivy was getting a red rash while in the bathtub, but assumed it was just the shampoo or soap.

‘We tried everything and nothing changed, so we put her in water and she still got blisters,’ explains Ivy’s mum, Brittany Angerman.

‘We tried our parents’ water, we tried city water, countryside water and nothing changed.’

Eventually Brittany and her husband Daniel took… Read the full story

Hollywood celebrities are often associated with enjoying luxury holidays at exclusive island resorts – we’ve all seen the paparazzi shots.

Occasionally – as with Francis Ford Coppola – we hear of them building eco lodges, too.

It’s rare, though, to find a celebrity protecting a region, potentially ensuring that more hotels and resorts are not built.

Your worth does not depend on the number on a scale or how a tape measure wraps around your waist.

You are more than that. You are more than your body, your body is worth more than what it weighs or what it looks like, and who you are shouldn’t be judged on one measure of your physical being.

Most of us know this, deep in the back of our minds. But then we see we’ve put on weight, or our jeans don’t fit the way they used to, and we start to panic. There’s still a big part of us that puts a lot of… Read the full story
