A party-loving teen gave birth to a surprise baby, after believing her stomach pains were period cramps.

Charlotte Thomson, now 21, from Newcastle, had no idea she was pregnant, as she was having regular periods and was still fitting into her size 8 clothes.

She told how she was woken up in the night with excruciating stomach pains and she rushed to hospital.

There, doctors told her she was in labour and Charlotte gave birth to daughter Molly, now two, three hours later.

Charlotte, a nursery nurse, says: ‘My stomach was completely flat, and I’d been having regular periods so it was such a shock when I found out.

‘I didn’t believe… Read the full story

Bride-to-be Nicola Steele ended up with a painful freeze burn on her stomach after undergoing freeze treatment to lose weight.

She had undergone the treatment at the Vivo Clinic, a private clinic in Newcastle.

Newcastle City Council’s public safety department has since launched an investigation to see what happened after Nicola complained.

Now, she fears she will still have the mark for her wedding.

The clinic said a reaction to the treatment is rare but Nicola had signed a disclaimer to say she was aware that she could blister.

Nicola disputed this and has been refunded the £399 cost of the fat-busting treatment.

A 64-year-old woman dubbed the ‘Graffiti Granny’ after swapping patch-quilting for spray cans is now hooked and says ‘everybody should have a go’.

Grandmother-of-two Moira Neal featured on national television when her antics saw her quaint village voted among the best in the UK, on a Channel 4 show called Village Of The Year.

The self-employed patch-quilt artist and teacher now wants every village to have a dedicated space for graffiti.

‘There should be a graffiti wall for everybody to go and play,’ said the married mum-of-two.

‘It’s great fun. It was just like I’m moving a fabric under a needle… Read the full story

‘I can enjoy a night out, a good film, a long walk in the park. Shocking, but true’ (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

I have depression but I’m not always sitting here in floods of tears.

Here I sit, in the midst of a particular dark period in my mind, and yet I’m not rocking back and forth, on the floor, in the corner of a darkened room.

I’m not wearing a veil every time I leave my flat; I’m not reading reams of melancholy poetry from a window in an abandoned house somewhere bleak.

In actual fact, even when things in my mind are terrible, I still manage to wear clothes… Read the full story

It might be spring, but we’re certainly not in iced latte territory just yet.

An old favourite for Costa lovers – the white hot chocolate – is back.

I truly believe that Dua Lipa’s New Rules are the only way for a woman to live her life.

It’s 2018 and pandering to people who don’t care, only for them to show you at a later date that they really don’t care, is officially cancelled.

Sometimes, though, the temptation to pick up the phone is just so strong (I’m sorry Dua) and we end up in a circle of making very bad decisions.

I’m gonna come right out and say it, I make many of these bad decisions when I’d quite like to have sex with said person who doesn’t care.

I know I’m not alone in this, and so… Read the full story

Vietnam is full of street vendors and food markets.

But there’s one diminutive merchant who stands out from the rest.

Dog is a three-year-old cat who’s been spotted down his local market a few times.

Like any true businessman, Dog is always immaculately turned out, complete with hat and – when the occasion calls for it – John Lennon glasses.

HIs human Le Quoc Phong says that when Dog isn’t flogging his wears (which, no doubt, he taste-tests to make sure it’s of the utmost quality), he loves ‘ice cream, travelling and sleeping’.

He tells Bored Panda that Dog ‘also has a lot of girlfriends and a lot of children… Read the full story

What’s it like to make your living from other people’s foot fetish? (Picture: Ella Byworth for Metro.co.uk)

It only takes a quick scroll through PornHub to realise that the world of sexual fetish encompasses a hell of a lot more than what Fifty Shades Of Grey has to offer.

In fact, ReKink lists over 80 different kink terms. From Demons and Dungeons to Hairjobs (yes, hairjobs), there seems to be nothing our sick minds won’t fetishise.

‘Women should be able to make their own decision on whether or not to procreate’ (Picture: Erin Aniker)

I don’t want children.

Despite always having been quite clear about this, people keep telling me the same thing: ‘You’ll want them when you’re older.’

Well, lo and behold, I’m 28 and yet my ovaries aren’t shouting after little ones to call my own.

In fact, apart from my nieces and nephews, I avoid children.

I’m not heartless, they’re sweet but also very demanding.

The point isn’t whether or not I’ll want kids, because who really knows, but rather why the topic is up for discussion for anyone but myself and my future partner.

Instagramming your food is making you eat more, say influencers

If you ate a bowl of porridge without uploading it to the ‘gram, did you even have breakfast?

Instagramming our meals is becoming part of everyday life.

And that can be a great source of inspiration – particularly if you’re a minority group like celiac or vegan.

But health influencers claim that this obsession with #foodporn does, however, have its drawbacks (aside from general FOMO).

They claim that in a bid to make dishes look as beautiful and aspirational as possible, we’re adding unnecessary calories to our meals.

That humdrum bowl of oats and honey might be enough in real life, but to make it Insta-worthy, you might start adding hunks of dark… Read the full story

Why babies who resemble their dads are healthier after a year

Babies who resemble their dads at birth are healthier a year on, according to a new study.

According to the research, that similarity encourages fathers who don’t live with their kids to spend 2.5 more days a month with them – because they’re confident that the child is actually theirs.

That increased bonding time improves the overall health of the baby, decreasing potential exposure to harm and allowing for ‘greater parental time for caregiving and supervision and for information gathering about child health and economic needs’.

The study says that newborns who look like their fathers are less likely to spend time in hospital or suffer from… Read the full story

Is there nothing Rihanna can’t do?

First, she smashes the music industry, churning out hit after hit, and then she completely revolutionises the beauty game with her Fenty label.

So it was only a matter of time before Ri-Ri got her claws into the fashion world.

Rumour has it that Rihanna has a lingerie line on the way.

TechStyle Fashion Group has reportedly struck a multi-million dollar deal with the singer to debut a range of intimates designed by Rihanna herself.

And you know it’s going to be huge.

Cleanliness, or lack thereof, is the biggest deal breaker when it comes to relationships

Cleanliness is so so important. Like, really important.

Please just be clean.

It’s important for all your relationships, not just romantic ones.

But if you are going out with someone, showering regularly, brushing, flossing, wiping are all conducive to a healthy, loving, and intimate relationship.

Not everyone is willing to put up with your unkempt and slobby behaviour as research shows it’s the number one deal breaker when it comes to dating.

And if the relationship ticks all the other boxes then make sure you tell them if their gym socks are making your eyes water or they don’t wash their bottom enough.

‘People who have high-functioning depression sometimes struggle to get the right help because their illness doesn’t seem to impinge on their daily life’ (Picture: MMUFFIN for Metro.co.uk)

We all have a mental image of what depression looks like.

Google the word, and you’ll find countless pictures of brooding, melancholic people curled up in bed with tear-stained faces, or gazing vacantly out of the window at the falling rain.

But, for many of us, that’s not how depression looks.

Instead it looks like neatly ironed clothes and immaculate make-up.

It looks like working a nine-to-five job, taking the kids to their swimming lesson or meeting friends for drinks.

This is high-functioning depression.

This is not a drill, a whole craft beer hotel is to open this summer.

We’re not sure if BrewDog is just trying to make amends for their marketing disaster with ‘beer for girls’ (yawn) but they’re the brains behind it.

The Scottish brewery was slammed after releasing a pink version of their popular Punk IPA, very originally called Pink IPA, ahead of International Women’s Day.
