Britain’s best pubs have been named in the National Pub & Bar Awards 2018.

The awards took place at BAFTA 195 in London on 23 May and honoured the best boozers in the business.

The White Horse in Chilgrove, West Sussex was this year’s overall winner, beating 93 other pubs to claim the crown. It also took home the title of best pub in the South East because, well, it’s greedy.

You’ll find the cute little pub nestled in the foot of the South Downs near Chicester, just moments from Goodhood country estate.

I met a woman, years ago, who claimed she could orgasm from having her nipples touched.

She wasn’t the most trustworthy of souls, so I filed that in the ‘that never happened’ compartment of my brain and went on with my life. But, years later, I met another woman who said the same thing and, to my surprise, the assembled company seemed to back this theory up.

There are, it turns out, women who can orgasm from nipple stimulation.

Are you sure they’re real?

Yep. Breast orgasms are real (for the avoidance of doubt, you feel the orgasm in your vagina, not your breasts).

It makes sense, when you… Read the full story

Greenpeace and The Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA) are going in on UK supermarkets and their single-use plastic consumption.

They’re conducting a survey of the UK’s 11 biggest grocery stores, asking them what their current plastic use is, what their plans to reduce plastic waste are, and when they intend to meet target.

Results are due in autumn and Greepeace hopes this added pressure will encourage retailers to actually start pulling their fingers out – and single out which stores care and which don’t.

‘Supermarkets selling masses of throwaway plastic packaging should be making great strides to stop their plastic from clogging up our oceans,’ says Elena… Read the full story

On 15 October 2009, Gavin was welcoming his first son, Theo, into the world.

Hours later he was having a brain scan. Four days later he was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

‘I couldn’t wait to be a dad and was delighted when Theo was born,’ says Gavin.

‘Then I had the scan and was called back into the hospital and told I had a tumour.

‘There was so much going on, I didn’t really have time to digest it all, but I just wanted to get better, so I could enjoy being a dad.’

Gavin had been referred for a scan after experiencing migraines, which he first blamed on going… Read the full story

Taryn Watson is a fitness-loving health physiotherapist. She’s also a mum, and has been left with a fun thing called ‘doming’ as a result of giving birth.

Doming is when your abdominal contents bulge through a separation in the six pack muscles, making your stomach look like it’s in the film Alien.

Taryn wants to show women that having your guts popping out of your stomach is normal post-childbirth, and that they shouldn’t let this put them off exercise.

Just a couple of weeks ago we revealed that Mars is set to release some Malteser buttons.

The company first let it slip that a new version of Maltesers were going to be flattened to make them more like Minstrels back in March.

Details of the changing shape of the malt chocolate balls were leaked during preparations for a new advert.

Instagram account @productsinstore shared a photo of the chocolates, revealing a small packet of signature Mars chocolate which were round in shape and came with tiny malt balls inside.

You guys, Bloody Big Brunch is finally coming to London.

The London event will take place at The Book Club in London’s Shoreditch on Saturday 2 June, featuring Bloody Marys and a menu fit for menstruation.

Bloody Big Brunch was founded to raise awareness – and funds – for the huge number of females (one in 10 in the UK) who are victims of period poverty.

Punters can sip on Bloody Marys, but there’s a catch – you have to pay for them… Read the full story

‘Just because you’re being photographed doesn’t mean you’ve invited anyone to touch you.’

Allegations of sexual abuse and inappropriate conduct by photographers, designers and casting agents have been rife in fashion for many years.

Which do you slather on first, the jam or the cream? (Picture: Getty)

What is an afternoon tea without scones? Adorned with cream and jam they really are an integral part of a proper British cream tea.

The big question, of course, is which do you put on first – cream or jam?

For me, it’s always cream and I have been involved in many a Twitter debate as self appointed leader of the cream first army.

Whichever way you serve your scones, I like them plain, without fruit, so that the jam or curd takes centre stage,

Oh, and do you say scone as in ‘sc-on’ or scone as in ‘s-cone’?

I’ve spent the last ten years of summer holidays hiding under a parasol and the slapping on the fake tan at night.

But last week, on a trip to Greece with my husband, I decided that I was done with patchy fake-tan fade and orange hands. I wanted, for the first time in my adult life, to get a real tan.

We all know how dangerous the sun can be. Skin cancer, hyper pigmentation, sunstroke – all things to be genuinely worried about. But, there’s a flip side to that. Having too little sun can also be really bad for you.

Just over three out of four suicides – a staggering 76% – are carried out by men, with suicide being the biggest cause of death for men under 49.

12.5% of men in the UK are suffering from a mental illness, and sadly, many are suffering in silence.

It’s shocking that in 2018, toxic masculinity is still very much alive, and while there are many other contributing factors to men’s mental illness, there is still an underlying expectation that men should simply ‘man up’.

A young woman with a muscle-wasting disease desperately needs help to replace her wheelchair, which is currently being held together by a spoon and a piece of string.

Jess Donohoe has spinal muscular atrophy and has relied on an electric wheelchair since the age of two.

Jess’ chair is more than a decade old. It is being held together by a length of string wrapped around a spoon and one of its metal plates.

A couple ditched the traditional fruit cake by celebrating their wedding with a cake made entirely out of pies.

Lauren and Jonathan Smith, from Accrington, Lancs, shared their wedding date with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Instead of a standard floral cake, they received a handmade four-tier cake made from Holland’s Pies after winning a regional competition.

Baxenden firm Holland’s Pies launched a contest earlier this month to give couples across the region who were due to marry on 19 May the chance of winning a cake – Lauren and Jonathan were over the moon to have won, meaning it was one less thing… Read the full story

I know, I know. Not Morgan Freeman.

The coolest man in film. The person whose voice you almost certainly imagine if you’re trying to work out what God would sound like. And now he’s been accused by eight women of sexual harassment.

Discussing Freeman’s alleged behaviour, one woman said: ‘He did comment on our bodies… We knew that if he was coming by … not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted.’

It’s incredibly disappointing when someone you like or respect… Read the full story
