Breaking Bad
OMFG (Picture: ABQ)

London is getting a Breaking Bad inspired cocktail bar this summer. And. Breathe.

ABQ (named after Albuquerque, New Mexico) will be open for three months from July and will essentially be a cocktail bar/lab in an RV, where people will be able to ‘cook’ up cocktails.

The pop-up is the brainchild of Locappy and the people behind the Annie the Owl cafe which came to London this spring.

Think gas masks, blue crystals, and chemistry flasks in a motorhome based cocktail bar.

cheers

Tickets for the cook will cost £30, which includes two cocktails, as well as the cocktail and chemistry experience. Each session will last two hours and the RV will be open from… Read the full story

22 inevitable stages of trying to plan a group girls holiday

1409664713-expectations-reality-girls-holiday-cosmopolitan-main

Holiday planning for a big group can be mega stressful.

Everyone’s got an opinion on where you should go – be it a boozy Ibiza break, sophisticated city jaunt, or a *lovely* rainy staycation in Cornwall.

Basically, you’re just looking for the holiday of a lifetime for the price of a trip to Butlins. Is that REALLY so hard to organise?

Well, yes. Because nobody ever wants to take on the mammoth task of organising the whole thing. Unless you’re lucky enough to have one of those crazy organised mates that enjoys that kind of crap (and is basically Monica from Friends).

Even they are going to need a holiday from all the holiday planning.

Here are the 22 inevitable stages:

1. You all take about 45,849 years to decide on a date. Dodging everyone’s summer weddings, festivals, and colleagues irritatingly planned-way-further-in-advance-than-you stupid holidays. There is ONE WEEK in the whole summer you can all go. And its bang… Read the full story

These Comme des Garçons boots: There are NO words

comme des garcons boots
Absolutely terrifying (Picture: Ssense/Comme Des Garcon)

These black leather guarachero boots by Comme des Garçons are insane.

We’re all about a good ankle boot but these are too much. Who needs upturned pointed toes like this, besides, say, the Child Catcher?

Seriously, how scary are they? There’s just a vibe about them that says I’m-going-to-kill-you-and-like-it.

Not exactly practical either.

That said, we can see Noel Fielding (love him) potentially pulling off a pair (it’s the eyeliner).

That is, if he’s willing to part with £325 and order them off of Ssense for the sake of fashion.

Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons label, while brilliant, is all about the shock-value, and these boots have WTF written all over them.

Microwave mug cake, cake made in a microwave
Yours in under two minutes (Picture: Hazel Paterson)

A gooey, melting middle chocolate caramel fondant dessert you can make in under 2 minutes from scratch? HELLS YEAH!

This chocolate mug fondant will change your life. Got the munchies? Mug cake. Unexpected dinner with mates? Mug cake. Think you’re rubbish at making cakes? MUG CAKE!

I’ve used a Cadburys Caramel egg for an oozy caramel filling but Lindt chocolate balls work really well too.

For a proper sponge cake go for about 80 seconds in your microwave, I prefer it more ‘fondanty’ (proper chef’s term) so I cook for 60 seconds (800w) but all microwaves vary slightly. Go for under then you can always cook a little longer, a few seconds can… Read the full story

Everyone loves a good trip to Ikea.

Eating ALL the cheap meatballs, buying lots of *entirely necessary* stuff, and of course testing out all the comfy beds and chairs until a member of staff tells you to get off unless you’re going to buy it.

Well, great news guys.

Everyone’s favorite Swedish flat pack furniture store is opening a pop-up cafe in – where else – Shoreditch.

Jumping on the ‘ridiculous themed cafe’ bandwagon, Ikea’s cafe will offer breakfast in beds that you are actually allowed to lie in (yay!).

Napping will even be encouraged by ‘sleep specialists’, and there’s a pillow… Read the full story

5 tips that will make you infinitely better at flirting

flirt graphic new 1.png

We all know people who can flirt with anyone, and pretty much always get what they want.

It might seem like they hold the key to a mysterious art – but actually they are just indulging their most basic instincts.

Flirting is primal: we are genetically programmed to flirt to perpetuate the human race.

To flirt means to attract a mate; to have sex means to reproduce. Our lives literally depend on it.

For some though, flirting does not come naturally. They have all the coquettish allure of a crab stick. For those people, we have science.

Webster University in St Lewis has come up with a scientific guide to flirting, and Business Insider have made it into a neat video.

You can thank us/them later.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.

Ok, so a few weeks ago we reported that we were pretty sure that slip ‘n’ slide was coming to London (and possibly the rest of the UK) this summer.

The problem was, the Facebook pages were all a bit short of detail, and we couldn’t get hold of anyone to confirm either way.

But this time, we’re basically 100 per cent sure that THIS IS HAPPENING.

A company called University Socials have set up a Facebook page called ‘EPIC Slip & Slide London (FREE) || Summer 2015′ (which currently has 27,000 likes), and there are actual dates and details and shiz.

When it comes to driving, women WIN. True story.

According to a new survey, conducted by Privilege Insurance, it’s the ladies who handle the stick better.

Fifty men and women sat an in-car assessment while 200 were watched driving at Hyde Park Corner. All were marked across 14 different categories in a month-long survey.

The study revealed that only 1% of women cut into traffic dangerously, while 14% of men did the same.

Some 16% of women admitted to using hand-held mobiles while at the wheel, compared to 24% of men.

As for those all-important activities like adequate use of mirrors and appropriate speed approaching hazards, the ladies came in top too.

In total women drivers scored 23.6 points out of a possible 30, while men came in with a shoddy 19.8 points. *Slow clap*

If you live in London and you work hard, chances are that your surroundings are mostly pretty dull – your office walls and the Tube.

But London is truly worth all the songs, books, films and plays that have been written about it – can you believe these places are in London?

1. This prehistoric park

No, you haven’t been transported to the set of Jurassic Park – these realistic dinosaur sculptures can be found in our very own capital city, in Crystal Palace Park.

11 reasons sex is better in the morning

Rise and shine (Picture: vadimguzhva)

Sex is always a good idea, and despite the busy lifestyles of many, something we should all schedule in our diaries as much as possible.

Double espressos, cold showers or over-enthusiastic radio DJs are all well and good when it comes to shaking away the cobwebs from the night before, but if you really want to set yourself up for the day, nothing beats a pre-brekkie bunk up.

Here’s why you should start your day with a bang.

1. Why not?

You’re naked, you’re horny, you’re in bed – sex in the morning shouldn’t be optional it should be compulsory.

*Totally* the obvious thing to do.

2. Spontaneity is sexy

Morning sex is a stolen moment. So rather than spend hours prepping your hair, choosing your underwear and… Read the full story

60s US swingers ads
How about it, eh?

In a time long before Tinder – or even the dodgy bit on Gumtree – men looking for ‘casual encounters’ had to resort to taking out printed ADVERTS.

Featuring headshots that wouldn’t look out of place in a glossy company brochure, these (seemingly married) hedonists had just a few sentences to sell themselves to potential ‘single gals’ and swinging couples.

Check out some of our favourites below – there’s not a gym selfie or sedated tiger in sight.

We never though sugar and seafood would go together, but apparently it’s the latest fad.

Artisan doughnut bakery Kane’s Handcrafted, based in Boston, is pioneering the doughnut sandwich – affectionately know as the ‘dowich’ – featuring two pieces of fluffy brioche-based dough with a massive slab of savoury filling inside.

As well as lobster roll, you can also choose from braised beef, pulled pork and jalepeno, and chicken salad. And there’s no scrimping on ingredients here – the beef is slow cooked for four hours in Latin American spices, and the chicken is based on Mediterranean recipes.

The dowich is the latest in a long line of donut crazes – we’ve already seen the cronut… Read the full story

We all know mental health problems are something many of us suffer from, but don’t feel we can talk about.

Friends Kayley Reed, 21, and Kyle MacNevin, 22, wanted to challenge this stigma – so came up with the idea of a fashion label that encourages people to wear their heart on their sleeve (or chest).

Their clothing brand, Wear Your Label, features T-shirts and sweaters emblazoned with slogans such as ‘It’s okay to not be okay’ and ‘Self care isn’t selfish,’ aiming to spark conversations around mental health.

The latest bizarre beauty fad involves using coloured pencils as eyeliner and lipstick – despite warnings from Crayola about possible health risks.

Teen beauty blogger Brook Eve has created a tutorial showing fans how to create make up from a set of pencils, insisting they’re ‘100 per cent safe.’

The YouTube video, titled ‘How to make crayola coloured pencil eyeliner’, shows her warming up the pencils in a glass of water before applying several shades to her eyes and one to her lips.

Another blogger, Brandy Willans, writes on her channel: ‘Don’t worry if you get this in your eye because it’s non toxic.’

There are also several videos online demonstrating how to make lipstick out of Crayola wax crayons.

Be proud of your scars (Picture: Sam Cleasby)

We live in an image obsessed world where photoshopped ideals of beauty are the norm, but what if you live every day with a physical reminder of accident or illness?

Life with scars can be difficult, people staring and the effects on self esteem can be devastating.

Yet many people have accepted their scars and are proud of them. Here are ten reasons to love your scars.

1. They are a badge of honour

Whether it is from surgery or accident, illness or pregnancy, your scar is proof that you have survived and overcome a difficult time in your life.

‘Never be ashamed of your scars, it simply means you are stronger than whatever tried to hurt you’ – Author Unknown

2. They are the hieroglyphs… Read the full story
