A mother with a passion for art has created an amazing photo-series that brings classic works to life.

Lucie Kruta was inspired to create the pieces after she took a photo of her baby daughter in a new dress and noticed she looked like a girl from an Edouard Manet painting.

It gave her the idea to create a whole series of pictures inspired by famous art.

Lucie now captures her family and friends in the style of the famous paintings.

In the past five years, she has created over 280 famous painting impersonations, which she posts on her website, Rembrandted Kids.

Her daughter beautifully captures the essence of the ‘Mona Lisa’.

Stephanie Maldonado, a dog trainer, rescued the orphans, who were so little they hadn’t even opened their tiny eyes.

But it wasn’t Stephanie alone who saved the babies.

Her dog, Pretinha, made it her mission to nurse them back to health – and soon, they had gained enough strength to climb on to her back.

Now, Pretinha gives the babies frequent piggy-back rides, mothering them in every way possible.

Parents have been left upset and angry after the Bahamas Ministry of Education allegedly threatened students with suspension for having ‘untidy’ natural hair.

One mother was shocked to hear her daughter speak of a child threatened with suspension for telling the school principal to ‘support the puff’ when asked to hand over the (prohibited) hairband that helped tame her naturally curly hair.

Kessa has also mentioned how teachers had been asking pupils to perm their hair – or cut it if it isn’t tidy.

Since posting the Facebook status, many other women of colour have come together in support of their natural hair, which can be incredibly hard to tame and style.

It turns out it’s not just humans who celebrate love on February 14th.

These two African blackfooted penguins, Kohl and Zelda, just celebrated their 22nd year together.

The penguins – who have black faces, black spots and a black ‘horseshoe’ on their bellies – enjoyed a cute candlelit dinner together – and of course there was only fish on the menu.

The love birds (literally) have been at the Audubon Aquarium, New Orleans, since 1990.

The aquarium posted their penguin’s loved up antics onto their website, describing them as ‘Audubon’s sweethearts’.

But surprisingly, not all penguins who mate together, date forever.

‘While most species of penguins mate for life, there is still a divorce rate’ Senior Aviculturist Tom Dyer told Audubon Institute.

‘We’ve seen our share of penguin heartbreak, infidelity and sometimes joyful reunion here in our colony.

‘Kohl and Zelda, however, are spending their 22nd Valentine’s together.’

And this years celebrations mark their copper anniversary. Who knew penguins could be so romantic?

This Valentine’s we have already seen a man ditch the traditional Valentine’s roses and replace them with chicken nuggets

And of course, his girlfriend was over the moon – and why wouldn’t she be?

And it seems someone else had a similar idea.

One man who also dismissed ordinary bouquets decided to go the whole hog – quite literally – for his lover as he gave her a bouquet of meat.

The graphic designer arranged sprigs of bacon-wrapped sausages, sausage rolls and fried chicken in a vase along with a couple of sprigs of actual flowers because, you know, romance.

Because who wants loads of flowers you need to trim and deal with when you can just have meat?

A photo of the bouquet was posted by the meat-lover’s brother, Reddit user ryancav.

How did different countries photoshop this man? (Picture: Superdrug/NYPHOTONY)

There’s a lot of attention paid to women’s bodies and how we all feel about them.

We talk about the body positivity movement, celebrating when plus-size models land major lingerie campaigns or walk the catwalk. We fight back against body shaming. We’re shocked and intrigued at how designers from around the world photoshop breasts to be bigger and waists to be nipped in.

None of which is a bad thing. But there’s one thing we’re forgetting: men have standards of body beauty imposed on them, too. And we need to talk about it.

To open up the conversation, Superdrug’s online doctor service repeated… Read the full story

Sergeant Dave Heyhoe lost his furry partner in crime, Treo, after a career serving together in the British military.

And as the ultimate tribute to his loyal friend, Sgt Heyhoe has had his beloved dog’s ashes tattooed into his leg, in the shape of a paw print.

Dave met Treo, who was awarded the Dickin Medal for Gallantry – a British military award for exceptional animal service – when he became his primary trainer and handler.

They worked together in 2008 to detect Taliban explosives in Afghanistan – saving dozens of lives.

When Dave retired from the Army, Treo retired alongside him.

And to honour the loyalty Treo had shown him, Dave wrote a book, called It’s All About Treo: Life and War with the World’s Bravest Dog.

Sadly, Treo passed away in October 2015 at the age of 14 and Dave was heartbroken.

But after mourning for his beloved dog, he settled upon the tattoo as the perfect way to remember Treo.

He had… Read the full story

Jen Pan’s latest photo series takes a stand against breastfeeding shaming. (Picture: Jen Pan Photography)

It’s 2016 and people are still being knobs when it comes to breastfeeding.

Women are still being told to cover up by total strangers. It’s considered ‘inappropriate’ to feed your child in a public space. Nursing mothers don’t just have to deal with a baby that won’t latch or casual leakage – they’ll have to do all that while ignoring disapproving stares and sexual comments. Fun.

Photographer Jen Pan is tired of it. So she’s created a project dedicated to breastfeeding mums everywhere.

The latest series in the project focuses on workplace discrimination.
