There’s not a woman alive who hasn’t overestimated the power of a tampon, towel or cup.

There you are, crossing your legs on the bus hoping that your sanitary product will hold until you get home when the flood gates burst open and a little pool of blood begins to form on your pastel jeans.

2017 and people are still missing one crucial fact about sexual assault.

Rapists and attackers are responsible for it – not alcohol, clothing, drugs or anything else.

The difference between Tinder and Bumble

And you’d think that a university which has a duty to protect its students would know that.

But one Canadian college has decided to take an alternative approach to keeping students safe during freshers’ week.

By victim blaming women for getting drunk in the first place.

The only reason anyone should be getting really angry about baby clothes is the fact that H&M will rush you £12 for a jumper that would fit onto a chihuahua.

(Or, actually, that time a shop was found to be selling a hat which said ‘Future Footballers Wife‘, which was an assault on grammar as much as anything else.

Don’t suffer in silence (Picture: Getty)

As a Crohn’s sufferer, I am always keen to chat more about life with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

8 things nobody tells you about IBD

When I was diagnosed, I was living abroad in China and remember feeling completely alone.

It can be so much to take in: the relief of finally having an answer combined with the fear of being diagnosed with a disease that you’ll have for life.

Four years on, I’ve learned a lot and managed to make some fantastic friends in the IBD community.

With that in mind, I recruited my favourite IBD bloggers to share their top tips… Read the full story

Young girl blows glitter into the air.

I don’t have kids, so thankfully I haven’t had to read many parenting books yet.

But as I get closer to a time where I’d like to become a parent, I’ve been more engaged by some of the pressurizing, judgmental and sometimes totally ludicrous things that women are told when they become mothers.

Artist gets lifted up by 20,000 party balloons inside the Sydney Opera House

I was smacked in the face this morning by a quote from the book Glitter and Glue, which presents their family dynamic as this:

‘Your father’s the glitter but I’m the glue’.

ICYMI, I ran the London Marathon back in April.

It was an amazing experience (in hindsight), but because I’m chronically disorganised, I left myself very little time to train in.

Can you train for a half marathon in just four weeks doing HIIT and spin?

While most people spend 18-20 weeks preparing for it, I went from 5k to 42k in 12 weeks. It was doable but it was a slog.

The physiotherapist I saw after the race told me that it’d only really been possible to train in such a short space of time… Read the full story

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the partners of people with mental health issues

I am not always a great person to be with.

I’m often irritable. I cry for hours and can’t explain why. I’m needy, then distant, then needy again. I sleep a lot and skip the fun stuff to take care of my brain. And even if you love me really hard and do everything right, I still might be miserable. Which must be frustrating.

People who love people with mental health issues are not heroes, but they do deserve a moment of serious appreciation

Because loving someone with a mental illness can be tough.

Because she was born the smallest baby in Britain.

Born prematurely in 2003, she weighed just 12oz (340g) and measured seven inches (18cm) as a newborn.

Being so tiny, her lungs hadn’t developed properly by the time she was born and as such, doctors gave her a 1% chance of survival.

But Aaliyah battled on and today she’s perfectly healthy.

No-one is really going to care about your lowly, unroyal bundle of babyflesh, because he or she isn’t going to be a prince or princes. You can put her in a tiny crown or reassure him that he’s mummy’s little prince, but none of that is worth anything.
