Okay, so you’re heading to Disneyland because you love rides and have a fondness for all the characters of your childhood.

metro illustrationsPeople need to stop commenting on others’ visible illnesses

But your tastes are a touch too goth to enjoy all the Mickey Mouse shaped, sparkly, glittery snacks on offer.

Mickey Mouse doughnuts topped with pastel sprinkles? No, I’m alright, thanks.

That doesn’t mean you’ll be excluded from the joy of eating food and taking a picture of it, held aloft against a Disney-fied backdrop.

You can just go for the new Halloween-ready treat to hit Disneyland instead:… Read the full story

Of course you do. Who wouldn’t?

Well, you can look at pictures of that gathering, because it’s already happened.

Hat man: Admit it, you haven’t the faintest idea who this is. Check out our number three for the answer (Picture: Getty)

We all love a one-hit wonder.

That fleetingly successful track that propels a previously-unheard-of musical artist into the spotlight, only for them to fade from existence soon after.

Over the years we’ve karate chopped our way through Kung Fu Fighting, shimmied our hips to the rhythm of Mambo No. 5, and lassoed across a room like a cowboy to Cotton Eye Joe.

Some of these songs fall into the so-bad-they’re-good category, but most of them are genuine party tunes, having gained cult status since their release.

Now, we’ve learned that there may be even more Fenty Beauty brilliance on the way.

It’s World Dream Day!

So let’s talk about dreams. Or, specifically, let’s talk about how little anyone wants to hear about your dreams.

Fizzy milk might be the next big food trend

In the interest of clarity, we’re not talking about dream like aspirations. There are probably some people in the world who care what you’re aiming to achieve with your life. Not that many, but a few. Your parents. Anyone you’ve been sleeping with for more than six months. That kind of thing.

But the dreams that happen when you’re in bed with… Read the full story

You’ve got to have your balance, strength and fitness on point, and you need to be able to read the waves like a book.

Many two-legged beasts struggle with it, but four-legged? Easy, pal.

Just take a look at the canines shredding at the 9th annual City Surf Dog competition at Huntington Beach, California on Saturday (September 23).

Around 3,000 people attended the event, which included 59 dogs from… Read the full story

Oh, bloody hell.

You’ve got a bottle of wine for a lovely night in, you get ready to pour yourself a glass, when it hits you: You have no clue where your corkscrew is.

Submarineing: the latest dating trend to make you miserable

You don’t remember the last time you saw it, actually. You’ve been making do with twist-caps.

You search your drawers, but alas, the corkscrew is not there. Did you even own a corkscrew, actually? You don’t really remember ever having used one.

Do not worry, sweet child (of drinking age, obviously). You do not have to deal with this situation by… Read the full story

Yoga has an unfair reputation of being easy and boring.

Usually from people who have either a) never done yoga, or b) only take a really slow, hatha class.

Yoga is tough – a strong vinyasa class requires strength and a hell of a lot of mental determination.

Then there’s acro yoga, aerial yoga and stand up paddleboard (SUP) yoga  – but these all look lame compared to…cliff-side yoga.

Yup, 38 Chinese yoga enthusiasts attached themselves to a steep, 200… Read the full story

Why are dating trends never nice?

Forget chocolates and flowers, you can now gift your mates a Domino's gift card

Why is there never an announcement that ‘kittening’ is a new dating trend and it’s where someone you’re seeing brings a kitten over to your house to play with for a bit, and then takes it away before you have to worry about insurance or the cost of food?

Submarineing, just like ghosting, zombieing and stashing, is a trend which makes you feel sad and broken inside.

Yay.

‘It feels like the end of the world. I’m not thinking it’s the end of the world but my body is telling me ‘this is huge, this is not good, get out, get out.’

Rochelle Bisson joined us on the latest episode of our mental health podcast, Mentally Yours, to discuss her anxiety, her cleithrophobia (the fear of being trapped) and how Virtual Reality Therapy has helped her.

Rochelle had suffered from claustrophobia for most of her life, but her cleithrophobia was triggered in 2013 when she got stuck in a Tube train.

She said: ‘We stopped in a tunnel and the announcement came over the speakers and the driver said “we’re being held here for a moment, we don’t know when we’re going to move on, there’s a problem with the track ahead.”

‘Something just clicked in my head and I thought “but when are we going to move? You don’t know when we’re going to move off?”

Wine? Yes, yes, yes.

Sadly, Rihanna is not launching her own dating app, but she mau be getting in on the wine game. And for that we are eternally grateful.

Here’s the deal. Early this morning people noticed that Rihanna had filed a trademark application for a range of skincare and nail products (exciting, we know).

Every time I go online, I see more and more reports of gluten-free prescription budgets being slashed.

11 things you only know if you’re gluten free

Whilst some NHS trusts are cutting down on the foods they prescribe, others have stopped it all together.

Despite the fact that this leaves many coeliacs incredibly vulnerable, there doesn’t seem to be as much outrage at this.

Coeliac UK has issued many statements about the problems cutting gluten-free prescriptions will cause but there’s still a general consensus that we’re all getting ourselves worked up over a bit of free… Read the full story

The truth about parenting with a mental illness

Parenting with a mental illness isn’t easy (Picture: Erin Aniker for Metro.co.uk)

There’s no doubt about it: mental illness sucks.

And it’s even suckier when it starts to affect your children.

Why self-harm isn’t ‘something just teenagers do’

It’s something I know only too well as a mother of two with a diagnosis of recurrent depressive disorder – an illness that has seen me suicidal and hospitalised on more than one occasion.

My children, aged six and 11, have had their childhoods shaped by my illness.

They’ve seen me so unwell that I’ve been unable to get out of bed, let alone make their packed lunches or… Read the full story

After a long few months of trying to find love on Tinder, it’s easy to think: You know what, I wish I could just pack it in and date my cat… right?

This company has been making ethical vegan 'Baileys' for years

For most of us, this is just a fleeting thought based on our growing misery at the hands of dating increasingly disappointing people.

But if you’re someone who wants to take that thought a bit further, without going down the actual cat-dating route (please, don’t date your cat. They can’t consent to anything romantic so it’s completely wrong), rejoice, for there’s now an app… Read the full story
