These two beautiful huskies were found abandoned in a Californian dog park.

Jada and Leyla had been left with nothing but a box of food, some toys and a note begging for the pair not to be separated from each other.

‘Our names are Jada (black) and Layla (brown),’ the note said.

‘We are nice one-year-old dogs. Please don’t split us up. Layla gets scared without her sister.’

The pair waited for three hours before someone alerted Mona Ahmed, the park manager who rushed to the park as soon as she could – only to find the dogs sad and confused.

You may not have realised, but there is actually a minimum age to use Snapchat.

The photo and video messaging app requires its users to be a minimum of 13 years old to use their app.

New Snapchat update introduces context cards – what are they and how to use them

The regulation is in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) which tries to protect children from the deregulated space of the internet where they are not protected from things that want to hurt and take advantage of them.

Frightfully easy chocolate cupcakes for Halloween (Picture: Mandy Mazliah)

It’s almost Halloween and the internet is awash with spooky sweets, treats, cakes and lunch box ideas. I’ve even seen Halloween guacamole. True story.

Why do we celebrate Halloween

Halloween itself takes place on Tuesday, October 31, but these days it seems like people celebrate all things spooky for most of the month of October.

It’s really easy to make your own Halloween treats and these chocolate cupcakes are a great example. Black and orange cupcake cases, orange food colouring, spooky sprinkles and you’re good to go. Perfect for a Halloween party or… Read the full story

In response to the #MeToo campaign, men on Twitter are sharing their intentions for change on Twitter.

Using the hashtag, men are sharing their intentions to be allies towards women and to combat the experiences of sexual harassment and assault which women are suffering.

The concept was started by Benjamin Law, who posted saying: Guys, it’s our turn. After yesterday’s endless #MeToo stories of women being abused, assulted and harassed, today we say #HowIWillChange.

There’s a ghosting window of five days after initially matching

Personally, I’m partial to a bit of ghosting.

It avoids the ‘here are all the things I don’t like about you’ breakup chat, it’s a time-saver, and you get a great anecdote to share with all your mates who think Tinder sounds ‘fun’.

But it can be a real kick in the heart. Getting ghosted when you’re truly not expecting it is a pretty sh*t experience.

Thankfully, there are ways to protect your sweet, vulnerable self from the horror of being ghosted. The key is knowing the profile of a ghoster inside and out, spotting the warning signs, and holding back your most sensitive bits (I mean emotional bits. Have… Read the full story

Pole dancing might be about to become an Olympic sport

Pole fitness has become super popular in recent years.

Far from being an activity exclusive to strip clubs and seedy bars, pole dancing is now taught in loads of gyms and fitness studios all over the country.

And it’s hard. Like, really hard. Pole aficionados have abs that most of us can only dream of.

It requires having a solid core, strong glutes, iron-like arms – and of course, some ability to move gracefully. It’s rather like gymnastics…except the bar is verticle rather than horizontal.

So it’s amazing news that the Global Association of International Sports Federations has confirmed that they’ll be giving observer status to the International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) – a move… Read the full story

A couple who enjoy date nights at Ikea have taken part in a photoshoot documenting their romantic evenings at the homeware store.

Amber and Steve Cox were pictured alongside their eight-month-old son Ezra at Ikea.

Photographer Amber, 24, and her 25-year-old hospital worker husband, Steve, say their evenings spent at Ikea give them the opportunity to have a fun date night without the stress of finding a babysitter.

After spending many happy evenings among minimalist furniture and Swedish meatballs, the family posed for family portraits at the St Louis branch of the store.

We like Bodyform.

We like their fun advertising, their dedication to destigmatising periods and now we like them even more for being the first people ever to use red coloured liquid in a period advert in the UK.

If you’ve ever watched TV you’ll know that traditionally menstrual blood is illustrated with blue liquid on telly. Perhaps because we are such delicate little creatures, anything red would cause us to faint dead away.

Or perhaps because of a long running stigma against periods, the kind of stigma which sees girls missing school when they’re on their period, and makes it incredibly hard for women who had period related health problems to talk to their employers.

Either way, adverts for menstrual hygiene typically involve a test tube of blue liquid being poured on to the pad while they talk about roller skating and horseback riding.

Happily, Bodyform are taking a whack at that with their… Read the full story

It’s time to stop putting deodorant on before you work out

Walking into a gym changing room is a bit like entering a war zone.

The air is so thick with deodorants and body sprays that you can barely make out the rogue gym kit left on the ground, ready to trip you up.

There everyone is, giving their armpits a good old squirt before heading off to the weights room or treadmill.

Fair enough, I hear you thinking. People reek – especially when they’re working out.

But…don’t we actually go to the gym to sweat?

Smothering a load of antiperspirant on before you go box jumping or squatting is like tying your laces together for heading out… Read the full story

Loads of middle-aged men are injuring themselves by trying to have sex in the shower

Sex is risky business.

If you’re vigorously thrusting away during doggy style, you risk breaking a dick. Stand up and bang away, and you’ll probably fall down.

In the hot, sweaty moment, the risk seems pretty low, however, so you go at it with wild abandon.

But be warned, horny people, sex-related injuries are rampant.

To hammer this message home – and to make sure you remember the importance of health and safety just as someone’s licking your genitals – here are some scary stats.

The number of middle-aged men reporting sex-related injuries has quadrupled in the past five years – and the majority are caused by trying to have sex in the shower.

20-year-old Lauren lost her arm around a year ago in a moped accident – but despite her ordeal, she has not allowed the accident to affect her life or her state of mind.

In fact, over the past few months she’s become known for making light of things, after her Tinder profile, in which she described herself as ‘hands down the best catch on Tinder‘, went viral.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Lauren explained that she lost her arm while riding fast on a moped.

She said: ‘I was going pretty fast on a moped and lost control of it, and I hit the median in the road.

We all take deeply unflattering selfies from time to time.

Sometimes you end up taking a picture just of your double chin. Sometimes you hone in on your extraordinary nostril hair. Sometimes you just think you look quite awful.

And that’s because we’re hyper-tuned to what we deem as negative attributes.

Half the time when we hate a photo, our mates think we look amazing. We don’t see what they see.

Erin Beth, AKA Pizza & Protein, has shared a photo of her ‘fat side’ to prove how quick we are to focus on our flaws.

‘I took this picture trying to get all creative and stuff with my poses and immediately disliked it because of… Read the full story

If you’ve got a weak stomach look away now; because the latest Instagram beauty trend if not for the faint of heart.

Just recently we wrote about cut-out brows – eyebrows which looked as though they’d undergone some fresh scarification.

Following on from the creepy trend comes cut-out eyeliner, and it’s just as disturbing.

In the lead up to Halloween, beauty bloggers have been mastering some bloody cat-eye looks using Special effect makeup. It’s a gory look that’ll make even people with the strongest of stomachs cringe.

The cut-out cat-eye was first debuted by Instagram user Rebekka Theenart, a makeup artist who specialises in creating unique makeup looks.

Don’t date guys who won’t buy you tampons

Pretty tampons (Picture: Getty)

When I was a teenager I worked in Costcutter.

Every month this guy would come in and buy a box of tampons, a load of chocolate and some pain killers. Every month I fell a little bit more in love with him. Admittedly he was also very attractive, and I went to an all girl’s school so I didn’t usually see a man from month to month.

But, all that aside, the fact that this guy clearly loved his wife or girlfriend or whoever she was and wanted to get all the period-related paraphernalia she needed, seemed like the height of romance.

Years later my (now) husband came back from the… Read the full story

What the actual f***, Nando’s.

Just as I was praising you for being veggie heaven, and gratefully lapping up the news that you have introduced two new vegan-friendly items to your menu, I have discovered that you have stabbed me in the back with a PERi salted knife.

Today Nando’s announced that they had launched two new veggie options, a Supergreen Burger and a Sweet Potato & Butternut Burger.

What they neglected to mention, however, was the fact that these new options would replace the classic veggie burger/pitta/wrap we have long known and loved.
