When I was younger, I used to slag off mates who chose to hang out with dudes over their friends.

When you’re at school, your friends are your life.

They dictate what you do and when you do it. They help form your character, your interests, your views.

And for many girls (especially those stuck in single-sex schools), friends should always count for more than guys.

Then you go to uni and make more friends of the opposite sex while spending a lot of time not being sober.

You come out the other side (hopefully) more at ease with guys and eventually find yourself into a long-term relationship.
