We all know someone who inhales their food.

No sooner as the grub touches their plate, it’s gone and they’re wiping their mouth on a napkin.

And then they have the audacity to tell you to get a move on.

But, fellow slow eaters, you’re doing things right because according to new research, eating slower could make you less likely to become obese or develop metabolic syndrome.

What is metabolic syndrome?

It’s a cluster of conditions including high blood pressure, blood sugar, excess fat around the waist and high cholesterol.

Together, these increase your likelihood of developing heart disease, stroke and diabetes.

The good news is that it’s entirely reversible if you make changes to your dietary and exercise habits.

Eating quickly can cause fluctuations in your blood sugar which then promotes insulin resistance.

A pregnant woman has been dubbed the ‘1, 2, 3 mum’ after finding out she’s expecting triplets.

Nia Tolbert is already a mother to a six-year-old boy, Shai and two-year-old twins Riley and Alexander.

The 28-year-old from Maryland recalls her husband ‘fainting’ when he heard the news that they would be having three more kids on top of the children they already have.

Yoga instructor Nia said she had never expected to see three babies in the sonogram but now says they are all excited to meet the new arrivals.

KFC is launching a new festive menu and there’s never been a better excuse to buy ridiculous amounts of its beloved gravy.

As the country continues to debate the best Christmas sandwich on offer, KFC has revealed an all-new festive twist to its menu, with the introduction of festive fries and a Celebrations Krushem.

The festive fries and basically the standard KFC fries, except they’ve been sprinkled with the ‘taste of toasted onions, garlic, herbs and smoky flavourings’.

I was once dumped in a pub in north London.

Nothing spectacular happened – but the pub was called The Famous Cock.

And that sort of summed up the bloke, too.

Another time someone broke up with me we were in the lift in the Gherkin.

At the party at the top of the building the bloke was telling me how gorgeous I was and how it upset him when I put myself down.

Making children’s clothing shouldn’t be that hard, surely?

Just make things that are comfortable, non toxic, and don’t write something stupid on the front.

Yet so many retailers seem to manage to screw it up. Enough that there’s a whole Facebook group – titled Let Clothes be Clothes – dedicated to calling out retailers who slather clothing with sexist, outdated or stereotypical slogans.

In this case it’s baby bibs. Because it’s important to teach children of both genders what their value in life is while they’re leaning how to chew.

Last Christmas it was all about Unicorn Vodka.

It was nice. It was glittery. It tasted nothing like vodka.

But it’s not 2016 anymore.

Unicorns are dead. They were absolutely flogged to death in toasts, pizzas and cereals.

And since then, all us infantilized millennials have gone mad for mermaids.

Hell, there was even a mermaid convention earlier this year where a load of merfolk gathered at a private school’s gym to lol about in fake tales and admire each other’s boob shells.

Christmas isn’t Christmas without mince pies.

And this year, there’s a spate of savoury offerings. We recently had cheese and pickle mince pies and things aren’t set to get any sweeter.

You may think mince pies were always stuffed with currants, raisins and other sweet treats but the humble mince pie was in fact made of ACTUAL meat.

And now, a mince pie made from REAL meat is now a thing in London.

Amazon Fresh has teamed up with one of London’s oldest butchers, C Lidgate, to bring Londoners a slice of the original meaty pie once more.

If you think Christmas is a ball-ache, then we’ve got just the thing for you.

On Esty (usually the home of artistically wooden Christmas decorations and astonishing rip-offs like ‘Easter trees’) you can buy a pack of the world’s bleakest Christmas cards.

They feature such gems as a dog peeing on an abandoned Christmas tree, a Christmas tree being given away for firewood, a Christmas tree sitting in the bleak hell-hole which is Archway (I used to live there, I’m allowed to talk about how awful that place is).

Green tea has been described as a ‘superfood’ (even though it’s a drink), an ‘elixir of life’ and a cure handed down through the ages for many ailments.

The drink has been said to help protect from cancer, aid weight loss, delay Alzheimer’s, cut cholesterol, prevent tooth decay and lower blood pressure. We’ll come onto those claims later.

But one question often asked is whether pure green tea has caffeine in it.

One dad is determined to ensure his 19-year-old son, Thomas, who has autism and a severe learning disability, has the best Christmas ever this year.

48-year-old James Dutton recently took to Twitter with a plea for anyone who could spare him a VHS copy of Postman Pat’s Prize Post Bag, as Thomas was desperate to add it to his Postman Pat collection.

Thomas has loved the show ever since he was a young boy, and still watches episodes of it regularly on YouTube – and James knew he’d be made up to receive something to complete his collection.
