A social experiment has challenged adults to spend 10 minutes locked in a hot car, to show how it feels for children and pets.
According to American not-for-profit organisation Kids4Kars, a child dies each week of heatstroke because they’ve been left in a hot car. So, they decided to show adults how it feels.
People were invited to spend 10 minutes in the car, with a prize of $100 (£64) if they could stick it.
To release themselves early, they were told: ‘If you can’t make it and you want to get out, just press the button.’
Here’s what happened.
People were fairly comfortable to begin with.
But, it didn’t take long to get unbearably hot.
