London is often accused of being unfriendly.
But when a set of sharp steel studs, dubbed ‘anti-homeless spikes’ appeared outside a block of Southwark flats last year, most people agreed it was a step too far.
And when a similar set of spikes popped up in Shoreditch, a group of artists were on hand to turn them into a bed.
We’re totally on board with their thinking here – a comfortable sleeping spot, complete with books to read, is much better than lots of metaphorical middle fingers made of metal.
