A midwife who refused to be a ‘fat bride’ has dropped six stone, spurred on by a nasty comment made by a stranger at work.
31-year-old trainee midwife Claire Crowthers, from Wrexham, North Wales, was shocked into slimming four years ago after a husband of a lady she was caring for made a comment about her weight.
‘I was mortified and although I knew he was right, the fact that a total stranger had passed a comment left me feeling upset, but also determined to change myself,’ she said.
