You all know where you were (um yesterday) when an Italian prosecco manufacturer forecast an ‘imminent global shortage’ of your favourite cut-price bubbly.
Now, people are reeling in the wake of the devastating news.
Robert Cremonese, the export manager of Italian prosecco producer Bisol, yesterday informed the world that stocks of prosecco are down following a poor harvest.
‘Last year’s harvest was very poor, and down by up to 50 per cent in some parts, so there is a very real possibility of a global shortage,’ he said, adding that we could run out ‘within two months’.
We just heard: ‘THERE IS NO PROSECCO. REPEAT. NO PROSECCO….white noise….
