There are a lot of reasons to resent living in London, and often it’s easier to just lie to ourselves about them.
1. £8.50 is cheap for a cocktail!
It only seems that way because £12 is apparently the ‘normal’ price in London these days.
2. £5 a pint is reasonable
They’re cheaper than the cocktails, at least.
3. A one hour commute to work is totally fine
At least you get a lot of reading done!
4. It’s not weird AT ALL that it can take two hours to get from one side of the city to the other
