Young Brits are apparently ditching books in favour of their smartphones on holiday because books just take too long to read, and they ain’t got time for that.
In a survey of 1,500 Brits aged between 18 and 25, three-quarters said they’d rather take their smartphone to the beach (or pool) than a book.
And, brace yourselves, the research, carried out as part of Samsung Galaxy S6 edge’s Summer Speed Reads initiative, also found that one in 10 young adults has never read a novel.
All of which means the traditional shop for trashy holiday reads might soon be a thing of the past.
