A female boss effectively works 100 minutes for free every single day because of the gender pay gap, according to a new survey.
That works out as 57 ‘free’ days a year.
According to the survey of 72,000 managers in the UK, the average pay for female managers of all ages, across all roles, is £30,612. A man in an equivalent job is paid £39,136.
While the £8,524 pay gap is a slight improvement on 2014 (when it was £9,069), it’s still an aching 22 per cent gap. Which means that female bosses effectively work unpaid for one hour and 40 minutes each day.
