I DON’T understand when parenting suddenly became an us versus them battle.
This week, I am referring to the ‘brelfie’ debate with some claiming the pictures of mothers breastfeeding in public is putting pressure on mums to nurse.
But of course any other week I could be on about using disposable nappies versus cloth nappies, prams versus slings, cots versus co-sleeping, natural birth versus c-sections.
Parenting, it seems, is no longer a thing we do to help produce functioning adults, but instead a competition where the ever-shifting goal posts means that the eventual winner is nobody.
