I started having panic attacks when I was 16.

They kicked off after I struggled with night terrors and insomnia, and had the sudden realisation that danger could be lurking literally everywhere. That guy across the road? Total murderer. A cosy night in? The house will probably get broken into. By murderers.

They started with a bang. Literally. My heart pounded, I felt like I was going to faint, and I sat, shaking, sure that I was having a heart attack.
