Robert Houser has been taking portrait photos for 20 years, but his photo-series of women facing chemotherapy was like nothing he’d ever done before.
The series began years ago when Houser photographed a young woman for a magazine story.
Halfway through the shoot she told him that she was about to lose her hair due to chemotherapy treatment.
Looking for something he could give to her during her experience with chemo, Houser offered to photograph her but the woman declined.
