A visually impaired teenager has publicly thanked the ‘hero’ who ‘saved his life’ after he was attacked by a bully at school.
A video taken of the moment 17-year-old Cody Pines jumped in to save his 16-year-old friend Austin Higley when he was confronted by the bully at Huntington Beach High School, California, last month was viewed over 26 million times online.
Austin, who is registered blind, has been friends with Cody since primary school.
In an exclusive interview with Dr Phil to be screened on US TV this week, Austin got to publicly thank his friend. ‘Honestly, I feel like you saved my life,’ he tells Cody, before hugging him.
