Chickenpox recently hit my daughter’s class so it is just a matter of time before she catches the virus.
But until then we are in limbo. Waiting, watching and wondering whether every little sniffle, spot, fever or tummy ache is the dreaded pox.
‘Better keep her home,’ I say upon discovery of a small red mark. ‘Cancel ALL plans just to be on the safe side.’
Then a few hours later, the small red spot would be gone, the runny nose all cleared up and my little girl would be as right as rain.
