These are super cool.
Open Bionics, a UK-based startup who specialise in making low-cost robotic hands have teamed up with Disney for a very special, and rather unusual, collaboration.
With the help of Disney’s TechStars Accelerator programme (which aims to help turn tech innovator’s dreams in reality) Open Bionics have created a low-cost range of Disney bionic hands for child amputees.
On the Open Bionics website they explain: ‘Now kids can get excited about their prosthetics. They won’t have to do boring physical therapy, they’ll train to become heroes. They’re not just getting medical devices, they’re getting bionic hands inspired by their favorite characters.’
