There are some things in the world that social media would have us believe are universally loved. Star Wars, Game Of Thrones, Ed Sheeran… it’s a varied list. And right at the top is Lego; those delightful coloured blocks with allegedly infinite possibilities.
Ask anyone what they think of Lego and would anyone dare veer from the ‘omg it MADE my childhood, it’s so fun’ response over to the ‘actually it’s completely pointless and a waste of money’ camp?
Maybe not – until now. It’s time I took a stand. I never understood the appeal of Lego as a child and I get it even less as an adult who understands how marketing and money works.
