Fed up with ‘sexy’ breast cancer awareness campaigns like ‘No Bra Day’ and ‘Show Your Strap’, Jenn Alter has shared pictures showing the reality of battling the disease.
In a post called ‘Here’s your f*cking breast cancer awareness’ on her Tumblr blog Pushing In the Pin, the 36-year-old from Missouri explains that breast cancer ‘isn’t sexy’.
Alongside images showing painful burnt and broken skin on her breasts, the result of a 35-day radiation treatment in 2013, she writes: ‘Breast cancer isn’t sexy. It’s not about saving the boobies. It’s not about no bra day, which is really just an excuse for women to post sexy pics of their nipples pressing through their clothes.
