A dad fed up of nothing but cutsie costumes targeted at his daughters for Halloween has started a hashtag encouraging all little girls to dream big.
‘When choosing a costume, boys are told they can be anything they want: brave, scary, smart, adventurous and more,’ web designer John Marcotte writes on his Heroic Girls website.
He goes on: ‘The costumes designed for girls, on the other hand, tell them that no matter what they aspire to be, the only thing that society truly values is that they look “cute,”‘ he adds.
