Earlier this week, 17-year-old high school student Carey Burgess was told her skirt was too short and suspended from school. Her powerful response has now been shared over 9,000 times online.
Carey, student body president at Beaufort High School in South Carolina, was asked to leave school grounds because, according to one staff member, her skirt violated the dress code by exposing more than three inches of thigh.
The school girl was initially reduced to tears by the dressing down by her school administrator. But, she later took to Facebook to argue her case.
